Chat status can be manually set to away. But why the color keeps green, but not turns to yellow at once?

It takes a few minutes of inactivity for Chat to recognize that you have walked away. It does no do so the second you walk away from your computer.

If it can detect your walking away, why don't it just remove the "away" selection, and detect the "away" itself?

riow, it detects lack of activity as "away". you could be sitting at your computer but not using the computer for a few minutes.

the "away" selection is gone today. I think this is more appropriate to remove the "away" selection if it can detect if you're really away; otherwise user sets "away" but the system keeps green light which produces confusion of the status.

unless the "away" selection turns to yellow once you select it

"Away" is not normally one of the available options. I suspect that you (or someone else using your account) typed that in as a "custom" setting.

Really? I found other IM software have such option too.
