How can I arrange read-only sharing of an entire Google Calendar (which includes 4 My Calendars) with a small group of colleagues who do not have Google accounts?

You will have to do this separately for each of your 4 calendars

...oh bother, how tedious. Are you sure there is no other way ? I thought of transfering all the information onto one single diary but then it's all 1 single colour and difficult to see groups of similar activities.

I tried this recently using the support link you posted but every time I tested the link it sent me to a google sign-in page.  I could view the calendar via the HTML when I was sign-ed in but not if I was sign-ed out.  Therefore, how would someone without a google account view the calendar?
