Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Ben VI 02/03/16 12:45
Blogger seems to have disappeared from the app store on iPad....
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Jasøn 03/03/16 09:44
Hi Ben,

Welcome to the Blogger Help Forum. Usage for our iOS app is low, so we’ve decided to remove it and better streamline our tools for Blogger.

I would recommend using Chrome or your mobile browser to access Blogger.com. All the features are available for your blogging use.

I hope that helps and if you need further assistance, please let me know!
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Ben VI 03/03/16 10:20
Thanks for letting me know - couldn't find any information on this anywhere online.
I've just set up all our school blogs on blogger - and all teachers have iPads to blog and love to post images.
I've just tried posting an image from my iPad on safari and chrome - the "from my phone" option seems to select only videos from my camera roll - but then inserts only a still image with a play button (that doesn't work).
I need teachers to be able to snap and blog quickly and easily

How is usage for the app low?! That is all I ever use to blog as well as my students and the 20 teachers that I am teaching tomorrow. We really need this app back. Please please please!!!!! I can not express how easy it is for students and adults to post blogs using the app. #panickedteacher

On Safari I couldn't edit a post as it wouldn't scroll to the bottom, I had to edit in HTML.

Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? TInkyTinks 10/03/16 11:17
Same problem as Ben V. Our school has recently set up a blog. But we have recently invested in loads of iPads. Accessing it via safari/chrome is a backwards step. We need to be able to click an app and go.
Is the only solution to change to a different blog platform that works on iOS?
I too don't understand the 'low numbers' excuse and guess it's got more to do with Google vs Apple (your maps are still far superior! Apple should never have changed!)
Please can you feedback to whoever makes these sort of decisions, that UK schools are wanting to use Blogger and iOS!
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Leesa Marg 17/03/16 00:20
Same as the others .. We have 50 plus iPads in the class . Using chrome or safari , we can't upload pictures and have all sorts of issues. Please bring the app back. We had no trouble last year.
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Teacher123456789 17/03/16 21:46
Why is this deleted! I use it all the time... Instead of deleting it maybe you should think of updating it! It takes to long when blogging about my class. BRING IT BACK
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? amyjaneonline 19/03/16 17:31
I am angry about this too. I found something that may work, though I by no means an expert on this and am just testing it now. But there may be other third party apps in the App Store that work on the iPad and allow you to edit/manage your Blogspot blog.  I am testing one called BlogPad Pro and it seems to be able to access the Blogspot blog from the iPad.  It seems to be able to access photos from the iPad directly.

Just thought I'd mention it. Please don't anyone get ticked because I don't know what I'm talking about. I most certainly don't :)
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Lyndal Fonokalafi 20/03/16 17:51
We need the app back asap as accessing through Chrome browser a lot of the functionality is gone - e.g. cannot easily take and upload photos within posts.
We use as a school- the education community needs it. We are all set up with student blogs and now too clunky to use .
Ridiculous streamlining for us.
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? SarahHGlatz 22/03/16 10:59
We are using the Blogger app with roughly 100 students.  We chose it for ease of use.  The website is too busy for 6th grade.  This is highly inconvenient.  Boo!  Please put it back.
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Kai Baumgartner 06/04/16 08:02
#baddecision, chrome or safari performance/usability/user experience is not satisfying.
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Andy Haynes 25/04/16 03:59
REALLY bad decision!  WHY remove it, i run my business from my phone and needed that desperately to make my life simple, I can't bring my laptop everywhere I go and took minutes on my phone VERY sad!
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? cathy_wolinsky 16/05/16 06:19
I teach a course for educators in the summer and present at Google Summits. Blogger on the iPad has been great!! Using a browser is going to be like trying to edit a Google Site in desktop view on a mobile device - can you say clunky!!! We have Blogger blogs for every classroom and teachers have been able to use phones to upload and create posts. This is a disaster!!
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Geoff Clarke 23/05/16 17:21
Even using Chrome on my iPad does not give me the 'edit' mode (or the edit symbol) whereas it does on my Netbook.
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Ms. Drasby 23/05/16 19:39
When using Chrome for editing Blogger you will need to click the more actions icon (3 vertical dots on the right handside) of the browser. This should be followed by clicking the request desktop site. Once this is done you should have full functionality to edit blogger.
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Morgan Sheppard 26/05/16 16:57
Please return the Blogger app!!!  Our school (500 kids) use it all the time.
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Sebastian Palmer 27/05/16 03:27
I'm another regular user who would like to see (an improved!) Blogger app back on iPad. Creating and editing posts on my iPad (desktop iMac currently not connected to web) is awful, in both Safari and Chrome, as the pages won't scroll properly, and I continually have to work my way down posts using carriage return and delete, in order to get to the end of a post and continue writing/editing. An awful state of affairs. I think by low theymean is that only several millions of users will be inconvenienced, and - as Apple show all the time - the big corps don't give a fig about users desires, unless they can make big bucks off them.
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Sara Buckle 31/05/16 00:30
This is terrible, please bring back blogger, we need this improved not deleted. I'd even settle for the old style to keep!
Don't understand 'the low usage ' excuse when so many people use it
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Karl Van Iseghem 03/06/16 22:52
Same for us. We really need this app for our students. PLEASE bring it back

Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Kerri Redding 04/08/16 06:44
Jason- A lot of schools have been using Blogger including our school- Washington International. Our students found it easier to use the iOS app on their iPads for on the go blogging and adding media. Is there any chance that the app can be offered in the GAFE domains?

Thanks-

Doesn't work!!!
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Doveranalyst official 08/08/16 07:06
No matter what browser you use and how much ever you force load the desktop site in an iPad, (mine is iPad Air 2 running iOS 9.3.3), you cannot access edit a blog post. Why do you all think that we may not be interested in editing a blog post we created before? The scroll function does not work at all. We cannot go down. And this has been happening since a year but nothing was ever done in this regard.
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Ms. Drasby 08/08/16 08:09
Hello Kerri I'm a GAfE user and can relate with what you are sharing.

Today I updated the Google Chrome Browser on an iPad Air followed by opening my blogger blog where I edited a post without any problems. I suggest if you and the students are having problems editing the blog in this manner than you might try clearing the Chrome Browsers Cache and Cookies.

Please keep us updated.

Best,
Ms. Drasby

Hey just FYI, in chrome when trying to scroll down on a blog you or working on you can't. The whole screen scrolls
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Doveranalyst official 11/09/16 22:02
Hey, everyone! I had tweeted about it @doveranalyst), but I forgot to put it here. As we all know, (and Apple Showroom helpguides know and told me, there's no way for blogger to work on iPad), which actually dissuaded me from buying a Mac. (Extremely good salesmen in Regal showroom, Colaba). Solution: PUFFIN BROWSER Sorry, I digressed quite a bit. But Puffin Browser is, what Google Chrome isn't. It is the best browser for iOS. The Apple Showroom guy had done me this one favor. He mention flash works on iOS by Puffin, (and, it is paid). I returned home and decided to check AppStore. I'm an Indian. I'm not going to pay for something that can be got free!! So, FREE version of PUFFIN BROWSER makes you scroll within blog posts that you have already created. One of my biggest frustrations of spending so much and buying the latest and best version of iPad air 2(my first experience with iOS), was that, Blogger did not work on Google Chrome or Safari. Nah, the desktop versions won't work. The ILLUSION of Google Chrome's desktop version allowing you to scroll within a post is only if you create a new post and finish writing it, then and there. I've a blog with 3lac+ views. And, no, I do not end up finishing a blogpost in just one go. In that case, if you have saved a post and you want to, say, add pictures, or whatever, it just does not work. I've lived with this frustration for over a year. I had (extremely foolishly), thought that iPad could replace a laptop. But even while browsing the default loading of mobile sites irritates me to the extremes! I found Puffin, when I had given up on just about everything. Now, my expensive iPad is not that useless after all. And, for some reason, I've the Blogger app on my iPad, and listening to this discussion, I will not ever delete it. I had it in my iPad and it is running well. Although, it is extremely limited in terms of formatting, (it does not allow you to set the heading, sub-heading, or change fonts or Colors), it makes you see things in a default sans serif font, which is a bliss. I never understood why Blogger would torture us with Serif fonts when our body font is sans serif. You do not get to add captions to your image, also. So, it is still irritating but it is much easier to add labels and stuff. I don't think they allow to add search description or change permalink in the Blogger app for iPad. I wish Blogger took these things into consideration. Lotsa love, j.mp/doveranalyst
Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? Doveranalyst official 11/09/16 22:04
I know. Lived with that issue for over a year s Blogger is obviously blind to our feedback. But, hey try PUFFIN BROWSER. It works!!

Hello.
Chrome app is fine on windows but on my iPhone is so bad ! It makes me really upset
I couldn't upload any photos from the gallery!
And a lot of problems happened to me in only one post, I decided to stop using it honestly.

I have found that the Blogger app doesn't even work now...According to this Google expert forum moderator  “Usage for our iOS app is low, so we’ve decided to remove it and better streamline our tools for Blogger.”

I’m one of the founders of Blogo. It's a free, simple, powerful blog editor for iOS and Mac used by thousands of bloggers worldwide.

And yes, it is compatible with **Blogger** (also WordPress and Medium) o/

Most of our users start using Blogo because it is simple. Write, publish and manage your blog with may powerful features, integrations, and offline mode. Blogo does the job with a smooth and delightful interface.

The free version allows you to post to one blog (in-app purchases and pricey to do more than one blog), It has photo-editing, comment management, support for Youtube, Vimeo, Twitter, Instagram etc, Evernote integration, markdown mode and more….

It will be a pleasure to help you!

Re: Where has the Blogger app for iPad gone? David M Winter 20/10/16 17:40
To the blogger team and app developers. There are alot of people we work with who are moving to seesaw because of the removal of the app. We relied on this to connect to blogger. What this means is that adoption of and use of gsuite is slowed and devalued. Is there no hope of reconsideration of this position.
