| Hidden autoplay ad on blog? | knitsofacto | 14/05/14 19:52 | I have readers reporting hearing a short blast of music on clicking through to my site. It is nothing I have added and I'm most concerned to resolve this. Using the inspector in Google Chrome I see the attached in my site's code, also not added by me. I'm told 33across.com is an advertising provider. Could this iframe be the culprit and if so how do I set about getting it removed please? In case it's relevant the lyrics heard are "This is what you want, this is what you need", repeated twice. Thank you for any assistance |

I run Comodo Pro, regularly check for malware etc. and yet I am now occasionally hearing this from my own blog. I am also being told by a number of my readers that they are having the same problem when visiting other blogger blogs ... always just the same short burst of the same song from an invisible source. A number of these people report having checked their own systems for any malware etc. but then still having these url specific issues. What on earth is going on? |

| Re: Hidden autoplay ad on blog? | knitsofacto | 17/05/14 04:26 | It was definitely heard at http://thesightofmorning.blogspot.co.uk/ Another reader reported hearing it on clicking through to http://circleofpinetrees.com/, but did say she also had other tabs open so was only 99% certain that blog was the culprit. Other non-specific comments from readers when I asked if they were still hearing it, all left on the same day, 15.05, on this post http://knitsofacto.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/cuckoo-buds-and-gorse-blossoms_15.html. (I will message those hearing it to ask for the other urls.) "No sound from your posts but funnily enough I have heard it on others" Only about 20% have reported hearing it which fits with my experience which is that it is intermittent. |

If you're able, could you see if you still hear the noise using incognito mode? Also, disabling extensions (for as long as you're able!) could help us diagnose as well. Thanks for your help! All Google Chrome extensions disabled but again I wasn't in incognito mode. I will switch to that and see what happens. Readers are reporting hearing it again too. I am currently only hearing it on my own blog. |
