Hello,
I am transitioning a customers accounts to Google Apps.
I've setup their domain, done all the neccessary DNS updates,and new emails are all flowing properly.

So they want to upload their roughly 7000 existing email messages over to their Google Apps account.
I've done this many times before with no issue.


-Migration is enabled in the control panel.

The user has been using "windows live mail" on Windows 7, as opposed to Outlook.
So I exported all messages into Outlook from Windows live mail. I open outlook now, and I can see all messages in there.

So I run migration, select that outlook profile, and it completes instantly, with 0 records imported.
I tried again selecting the PST file, same result.

Copied the PST to another computer, and tried uploading again, same result.

Log file is below.
I have it set to upload all messages (not just new), and no date ranges specified.
Any thoughts on why it's not seeing all the messages?

This issue can occur when the user conducting the migration has insufficient privileges to access the PST, or when the tool is otherwise unable to find or access the PST file. Note that the Google Apps Migration for Microsoft Outlook tool requires both read and write access to the PST.

Checked the PST, my user, administrators, and system all have full read/write privileges.
Also tried running the migration app as administrator, no help.

Same problem here.

This is what i did:
- Export windows live mail to Outlook PST
- Migrate that PST File with Google Apps Migration and NO MAILS are detected.

I also try another way:
- Export windows live mail to Outlook PST 
- Create a new Outlook Profile
- Open my new empty profile, mount Outlook PST exported, and move all mails from that PST file to my new empty Profile. 
- Try to migrate that new profiel with Google Apps Migration and NO MAILS are detected.


So it might be something wrong in mails headers exported from Windows live mail to Outlook.... 

I thing Windows Live mails have some king of headers that makes Google Apps Migration tool to ignore them...

no, I had to migrate using IMAP...  Google Apps Migration didn't work.

sure. It's easy but tedius...

- Firts enable IMAP options in gmail account
- Next Configure IMAP account in your Windows Live Mail
- At this point, you have two accounts in your Windows Live Mail. Just copy each folder from original account to your IMAP account, and let it go (it takes lot of time)


Anyway it will give you some problems like:
- Lot of time outs uploading mails (it depends of the volume you have to upload, just be patience)
- Once you have all in Google, all mails will show with an attach icon (also if you sync Outlook, you will have all mails with attach icon). This is because IMAP's conversion.

Lee, this would have been easy using Google Apps Migration for Microsoft Exchange(GAMME) and it's IMAP migration feature.  You would have pulled email directly out of Windows Live using IMAP.  I can only guess but it sounds like when Outlook connected to W Live it only was reading that data and not storing it locally.
