Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar andymwood-SR2 5/23/13 5:01 PM
I had a problem with my machine - which I thought might be due to the sync process. I upgraded to Office 2013 and recreated my profile.

Now when I sync I get all the email; and new calendars sync - but my main calendar does not. The only sync'd items are recurring appointments.

I wondered if it might be.because I've got other email profiles - so I installed on a brand new machine - same problem. No calendar items sync'd just a couple of ones that are recurring.

I then downgraded back to Office 2010... and had the same problem

This was working - and now it is not. If the latest release supports 2013 is it possible to access the previous release that didn't as I'd rather go back to 2010 and have a sync'd calendar than this.

Having the same problem, with the same story from 2013 to 2010 and main calendar is not syncing, I was with Google Apps support over the phone for more than an hour today, and they say they will contact me once they have an answer! they suck!

Anyway, I found an alternative solution that I used before I had Google apps:

it's $20 and it does EXACTLY what Google Apps tools is doing!

Google had enough time to work on this, and now they might loose clients for this, it's too bad...

I appreciate that there are 3rd party add-ons: but I just want this to work like it did. I know it does work, I just need it fixed.
Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar Ad Imhoff 5/24/13 1:44 AM
I have a similar problem with the syncronisation of the main calendar. It happens with Outlook 2010 and 2013.  The calendars do sync but only until the end of feb 2013. After that point only the recurring appointments seem to show up.
Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar andymwood-SR2 5/24/13 2:10 AM
Advisor Frank's workaround fixed it for me - uninstalled 2013; uninstalled the latest google apps sync (v3.3); downloaded the previous version (3.2) of google apps sync, installed Office 2010 with SP1.

Now just to see if the stability issues I was having which caused the uninstall/resinstall in the first place have been resolved too.

Hi guys, I have the same Issue (outlook 2010 and google apps sync (v3.3)). Do you know where to download previous version (3.2) of google apps sync?
Thanks,
Thibault
Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar Advisor Liron 5/24/13 2:55 AM
Hi Thibault,

The link to version 3.2 is https://dl.google.com/dl/google-apps-sync/3.2.353.947/gsyncsetup.exe. It's also posted in the Known Issues page. You are using Outlook 2010 so this is the best workaround for you.

For Microsoft Outlook 2013, use the web interface to view/modify your calendar events.

Sincerely,

Liron

Getting back to GAS 3.2 worked me for (Windows 8 / Outlook 2010): calendar sync is OK.

Looking at the "supported" I can't see why not - that'd be my preferred option anyways

When will this be fixed? I downgraded to 3.2 version of google sync and its still not syncing my calendar (mail/contacts ok).  I'm using Outlook 2007 SP3.

Hi Google, please help with this. I need to know how to download GAS to 3.2. I can't live without Outlook.
Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar Upangle 6/2/13 8:28 PM
@ScottBrokers. I figured this out. This GAS 3.2 installation file is a silent install. i.e. it runs in the background and install itself.

1. Uninstall GAS 3.3 and outlook migration tool
2. Restart computer (just in case)
3. Run the GAS 3.2 install file
4. Goto Start > Programs > Google Apps Sync > Set up a Google Apps Sync user
Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar Eyalme 6/2/13 11:28 PM
The installation runs silently but does nothing.
The "Google App Sync" directory is empty and there's nothing at "Start > Programs"...
Anyone really got this to work?

Hi Aron,

I suspect you may be running into a separate issue. Google Apps Business Edition users are entitled to direct email & phone support specific to your situation, I would suggest reaching out there so we can look into it on a 1:1 basis. Our contact details can be found in your Google Apps admin console >> support tab.

I hope that helps.

Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar Olivier Audouze 6/7/13 7:23 AM
Hi,

I'm running Outlook 2010 on  windows 7 and I have the same issue since the upgrade two days ago.
I got plenty of errors for contacts sync.
I tried to use te log analyzer, it told e it was because of a issue with time zone.
I have updated the time zone in the registry as required, same thing...

What is the issue?

Do I have to downgrade to 3.2?

Thanks in advance

Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar GASMO SyncFix 7/17/13 6:04 AM

for anyone having issues with this...

From http://syncfix.ccp.com.au/

Since Outlook 2013 was released, unless you have the 'MSI' version (meaning a really expensive Volume License version of Office Pro Plus), Google Apps Sync refuses to work. Google recently announced that Outlook 2013 was supported by their sync program but again, this excludes Click2Run versions. This means all OEM and Retail copies of Office 2013 just plain won't work.

Over at Computer Consultant Professionals, we worked hard to find a way to get Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook (GASMO) to work with Office 2013 and we have the solution, finally. If you are tired of waiting for Google and Microsoft to play nice, we can help. Our software will install GASMO and create your email profile so that it works once more.

The current version of our software (1.0) creates the profile, but does not add delegate accounts or support command line options. These features are planned for a future release. See the website for more details
Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar GASMO SyncFix 7/17/13 6:09 AM

I'm Happy to be able to respond, there is a solution :)

Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar AusHapps 7/28/13 9:35 PM
Has anyone tried this solution and is willing to provide feedback?

@Syncfix, assuming Google releases GASMO how will this effect your solution (if at all)? I.e. would we need to re install Outlook 2013, or undo the changes you implement?

Thanks.
Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar GASMO SyncFix 7/28/13 10:30 PM
we've had hundreds use the product now, successfully. There's other responses in other forums but hopefully someone'll post a "yep it works" reply that's not vendor related.

If google eventually release a fixed GASMO this will mean our product is no longer required, that's it. It won't mean any changes/re-installations/etc. About the only thing you may want to do is a manual update of the google sync program as the version we're using isn't the latest anymore, newer versions are making it harder to sync with more click-to-run checks.

Once the sync is setup, it's a 100% google configuration. All the fix does is fix the PC so the sync program will install and configure. There is no ongoing requirement for syncfix once it's all setup and running.

Hi,

Thanks for the response, I have purchased your solution and for the most part it is working except I am also experiencing the issue with my primary GApps calendar not syncing, I've requested assistance through your web site.

Cheers, Brad.

Have you read the help section on the website ?

it answers that issue, only comes up with office365 apparently. fixed either by rebooting or unticking/reticking the calender sync checkbox.

Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar AusHapps 7/30/13 7:16 PM
Yes I had actually, and thanks for your other response in your web site's forum.  I'll post the following in both in case it helps any pother customers of yours, as it appears to now be resolved on my PC...

My primary calendar would not sync, I followed the instructions to un-tick - create calendar - close/open Outlook - sync - re-tick call calendars = still would not sync.

I restarted my computer = still would not sync

Before I left work last night I tried the following:

Complete uninstall of Google Apps Sync for Outlook, complete uninstall of Outlook 2013.

Re installed everything and re-synced everything overnight.  When I came in this morning, same issue.

However I did some testing and discovered that any 'all day' calendar items were syncing.  I created a new appointment in Outlook and it synced to my GApps calender in my browser.  I created a calender entry in my browser, but it did not sync to Outlook 2013.  So some content appeared to sync, some didn't.

So clearly it was 'connected', but not syncing.

I re-tried the untick-retick solution which again didn't work for me, so I opened the calendar settings in the browser, changed the calendar name by just adding a '1' at the end of it and clicked SAVE.  Launched Outlook 2013 again and all my calendar entries started appearing!  I went back in to the browser calendar and removed the '1' back to the original name and saved again, re-launched Outlook and it worked again.

So for some reason I thing I needed to re-save my calendar in the browser to 'force'(?) a new sync process?  Or it was just a fluke!  But for what it's worth that's how I managed to get mine working again...

Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar John Dandeneau 8/16/13 8:47 AM
Excellent - for whatever reason, this worked for me, too.  I had read your post prior to getting Outlook 2013 working with Google App Sync.  Main calendar wasn't syncing, but other calendars were.  I went into Google Calendar, settings, renamed the calendar by adding a "1" to the end and saving.  Started Outlook and the calendar synced immediately.  Renamed calendar back to original and all is well.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Totally still broken.  This is not a fix, just so you are aware.  Google has no fix for this yet.

UPDATE:  I just used syncfix with my new Microsoft Surface Pro, Outlook 2013 from Office 365 (thus, no .msi).  Installed successfully, now syncing well.  I've now used syncfix on two computers (you get a 30-day usage for $3).

OK guys the time I have spent by trying bunch of solutions reinstalling, installing one version or other of Office, editing the registry and etc. was not worth 5$ which I spent for THE GREATEST tool at http://www.syncfix.net/
If you have incompatibility issue between click-and-run Office 2013 suite and Google Apps Sync for Outlook, SYNCFIX is the answer, trust me !
Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar Chris Lee, CCIM 9/17/13 12:57 PM
Syncfix is the answer.  Worked on two machines now.  Also, renaming the google calendar fixed the calendar sync issue.  I didn't think google app sync was open source, but sure should be since the only people able to make the program work are non-google people. Wake UP Google and support your product...we do pay for it you know?...hello?...anybody?
Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar Evan M Rosen 9/24/13 6:47 PM
i also installed syncfix.  i had a problem with my antivirus blocking outbound messages.  the developer at syncfix went above and beyond.  he skyped with me from 1/2 around the globe and logged into my computer via team viewer, diagnosing and fixing the problem in about 30 seconds, even though it had nothing to do with his excellent software.  we have syncfix installed on two machines in the office now and it works perfectly.
Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar Matthew Cramer 9/26/13 2:31 AM
I agree with past few comments.  Syncfix works beautifully with Outlook 2013 Click to run.  Its a life saver especially when Google cant fix their own sync tool!
Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar Rhese Hoylman 10/1/13 11:48 AM
Just to confirm, we tested SyncFix on one of our machines today and it worked great! It even downloads and installs the Google Sync app for you. Yes it costs, but it is well worth the expense to offset all the other hoops you would have to jump through.

Google needs to hire this guy or purchase his solution.
Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar Allison Foster 10/5/13 5:55 AM
just checking before I purchase. When I went to the site and entered my e-mail address to determine if I need the product, it said "maybe" I needed syncfix. I believe that's because I'm not currently subscribing for Google Apps for Business (because why would I when the calendar sync feature didn't work for Click 2 Run and that's all I could buy?!). So, am I right that upon re-subscribing to Google Apps for Business, syncfix will say "yes" I need it?  It's been such insanity I can hardly believe it's true. Willing to start paying, just want to be sure before I give Google any more money :)
Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar Rhese Hoylman 10/7/13 7:10 AM
Hi Allison:

I'm not positive about the message you are getting regarding "maybe" needing syncfix. We have only tested this on the Google Apps for Business version, and only the one time so far, and it worked very smoothly. Also, it was only $10, and that money is not paid to Google, but to this independent software developer that has created this product. I would say that $10 is worth your time to try it out.
Re: Google Apps Sync with Outlook 2013/2010 - refuses to sync main calendar Allison Foster 10/7/13 7:44 AM
Hi Rhese,

My comment about paying Google was pertaining to paying for Google Apps for Business when the only motivation I had was getting the calendar sync to work in this 2013 environment. I thought I had suspended my account. As it turned out, my Google Apps for Business account was still active, so I'm unsure why SyncFix only indicated "maybe" when I entered my business-linked e-mail address. Others may experience that same yellow sign. I'm a company of one, maybe that's why?

I did indeed pay the $10 and am so happy with the progress! It did force my hand in creating a new Outlook Profile, which in turn is about to force my hand to have my GoDaddy-based e-mail routed through Gmail to my Outlook inbox. Otherwise I'm left with this "Google Apps Inbox" adding a little clutter and confusion. [I have my other inboxes set up under "favorites" but when I go to compose a message, "Google Apps" comes up as a "from" option].

The best additional  discovery is that although one has to have a Google Apps for Business account to get started with this syncing, it appears that my family's free gmail calendars are syncing as well, so long as they have shared their calendar with my business e-mail address. It's a better view in Google Calendar where all calendars are seen in one calendar, color-coded. But still nice that I can pull up the shared calendars in Outlook 2013 to help scheduling.
