Funnel Exit URL Same as Next Step URL nwhorton 4/14/10 1:49 PM
Hello,
I am having a problem with a goal funnel in my Google Analytics implementation.  The URL for Step 2 of my funnel is set to /checkout/onepage/billing/ but in the Funnel Visualization it shows a number of exits from Step 1 to the same URL.  How can it be that some of the hits to /checkout/onepage/billing/ are being treated as funnel exits, while the majority (61%) proceed to step 2 successfully?

I have seen this question posted here a couple of other times, but could not find an answer that helped my particular case.  Can anyone help figure out what might be causing this?

I have not been able to get this solved to this point either.

We are having the exact same problem.  70% is completing successfully, but 11% of the exit URLs are exactly the URL for the next step.  Bump!

Update: If the page refreshes, it might show up as an exit page. For example, a product page that refreshes when items or quantities are updated. Thanks for the info...apparently this is a "known issue"?  Doesn't seem like anyone confirmed for sure it is due to page refreshes, but that sounds like a somewhat reasonable explanation.

The page refresh that shows as an exit page does not apply to this problem. It applies to a similar but different problem. The problem here is not that the funnel visualization is showing exits to the same page.

The visualization is showing exits to the next step in the funnel!

-It's a completely different issue, and obviously not due to a page refresh. When I refresh my page, it usually shows the same page, it doesn't jump to the next page in a process.
