Not all visits tracked Pettersson 7/1/12 3:49 PM
I know of many visits to my site, www.davidgeraldpeterson.com, that have not shown on analytics. Many of these have been while I was sitting beside the user on there computer, with a duration of at least 10 minutes.
I'm in the US. Also, the duration has always shown 0% for years.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Pettersson

Once you've correctly installed the tracking code snippet, you should allow up to 24 hours for data to appear in your account. If it has been more than 24 hours and you're still not seeing any data, take a look at the list of possible reasons here.

I am seeing data. I am just not seeing some data that I know happened here in the US, while I was sitting next to the person on there computer. My site has been up for over two years, so it is has been showing data all along.

Why would the duration always show 0%? I know of many visits of at least 10 minutes.

Thank you

Hi, your site seems to be using flash and I'm not seeing any indication of analytics tracking code in the page source code.

Have you setup ga flash tracking?
Re: Not all visits tracked Pettersson 7/3/12 6:46 PM
Hi, I don't think I have setup ga flash tracking. When I did the code over two years ago from Live Books, it was not a flash site. Then I upgraded to flash six months ago.
The code was only done once, two years ago.

How do I setup ga flash tracking?

I'm very new to all of this. please bear with me.

I'm not familiar with tracking flash itself.. I can point you to the dev docs
https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/other/flashTrackingIntro

To track the site you do at least need to instal the tracking code into the site pages that are there.

Only other thing i can see that might be a problem is that your page urls use the following url pattern..  http://www.davidgeraldpeterson.com/#s=0&mi=2&pt=1&pi=10000&p=5&a=0&at=0
To the best of my knowledge, analytics doesnt track links with anchors # out of the box.
Not sure how you would go about fixing that.

With whatever platform you are using for your site, do you have the option of specifying user friendly urls?
Re: Not all visits tracked Pettersson 7/4/12 1:50 PM
I think when my site was updated from my old livebooks site to the new flash site by livebooks, my tracking code was deleted, and didn't tell me to copy the new code in to livebooks edit suite. So I've been without a code for awhile.
I will copy new code in to my edit suite.

I have no idea about specifying user friendly urls. I've never seen anything like that in my edit suite.

Thank you
