1) If I create a page that lists all the URLs I wish to include in a CSE, the MakeAnnotations tool can be used to point to that page and Google will create the XML file that defines the URLs I want to include in my CSE. Correct? In other words, I don't have to manage my URL via my CSE control panel, correct?
2) I don't quite grasp the purpose and value of the label parameter. The docs say "Label - This parameter is required for this tool.
When the extracted URLs are used inside XML annotation elements,
sub-element's name attribute can be specified using this
argument." Ok, it's required. But what can do with it and why?
3) When the MakeAnnotations tool scrapes the page does it parse anything else from the page? What I'm getting at is, should I markup my list of links in a certain way that optimizes the page scraping? Is there parms / "intelligence" that I can pass to the scrape engine via the markup.
4) Most importantly, is there anything to lost by defining my CSE via Linked? I would prefer to use a BD to manage my URLs and then create a page for the MakeAnnotations tool, but I don't want to go that route if Linked CSEs (to put it bluntly) suck in some way.
