Jacky, really nice to see you posting to this thread - if I haven't missed something you're the first Google employee to do so, despite the fact that the thread now comprises over two hundred postings !...

The problem is that neither of the alternatives found under «Bookmarks» in the spanner menu resolve the problems described by (would-be) Chrome users here : «Shift+Ctrl+B» toggles a horizontal bookmarks bar off and on, while «Shift+Ctrl+O» (to which I presume you were referring) opens a new tab with a vertical Google Bookmarks Manager panel, which cannot be toggled off by repeating the keystroke, but rather has to be closed in the usual manner. In my case, the panel, has eleven (11) «Imported from Firefox» folders, and a single «Imported from Del.icio.us» folder, which latter dates back to 2009-11-20 and which I can find no way to update - the only imports which seem to be allowed are from Firefox (as tested on both Chrome 14.0.835.186 and Chromium 15.0.871.0 (Developer Build 99583 Linux) Ubuntu 11.04)....

What I - and if I understand aright, most of my fellow posters here - are requesting is a simple side panel which can be toggled on and off using «Ctrl+B» or some similar command and on which one's choice of bookmarks - in my case Delicious, which I've found to best suit my particular needs - can be displayed. Any chance that we can get that on Chrome ? Until such a service can be provided, while I shall, of course, continue to use Chrome/Chromium from time to time, various versions of Firefox will remain my default browser, despite the other advantages that Chrome offers....

Henri

PS : For those wondering how one can get Delicious bookmarks to work with Firefox versions 6.x and above, the answer is the «Add-on Compatibility Reporter» add-on (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/). Great tool - with it, not merely Delicious bookmarks but even such extensions as Google toolbar for Firefox can be made to work with FF, even with the nightly builds (currently 9.0a1 (2001-09-23))....
