Does Youtube censor truthful commentary for video comments? naras1knows 10/23/09 11:06 AM
I recently left a comment on the video of Eric Beall on music publishing. I'm a known professional in the music business and left a truthful informed comment that was not published. The five comments that are there are gushing comments that look like hired spam. This video is a commercial video for the products he sells.

WHY WOULD YOUTUBE CENSOR MY TRUTHFUL COMMENT? Are you censoring truthful informed free speech, and the public's right to know a dessenting truthful opinion in a matter of consumer law?

Sometimes comments don't register when entered also the video uploader can remove comments he/she doesn't want. YouTube doesn't normally read the thousands of comments in dozens of languages posted every hour (minute?)

The person who posted the video controls the comments. YouTube is only involved if the comments were reported to them.

Also, the commenting system has some serious bugs right now. It may be that your comment has temporarily disappeared due to these problems: this isn't deliberate censorship on YouTube's part, or even the uploader's part.

YouTube does, however, refuse to post comments that contain web or e-mail addresses, or the phrase "sub4sub", or have material copied and pasted from other posts.

Finally, the uploader may have chosen to allow comments to show up only after he has reviewed and approved them.

I've got it...THANKS.....the person controls the comments......so a credible objective review is not likely to happen if that's the case. Unlike Amazon for instance.

No wonder the positives look like hired positive spam.

Anyone with even a modicum of Internet experience can see what they're up to so they're only fooling themselves (and other noobs).      ;)
