I uploaded my first video today. It's been "processing" for about three hours now; does it normally take this long?

The processing time depends on several factors, the size of the file you uploaded, the length of the file video you uploaded and the current load on the server doing the processing.
For most videos, they will process in under 2 hours. If it is taking an excessive amount of time (an entire day for instance) there are two common causes:
1) the video had problem during the uploading of the video causing an incomplete file or corrupted file. Deleting the video from YouTube and re-uploading may help.
2) the video that you uploaded is in a format that YouTube's encoders don't understand. YouTube's encoders can handle a large variety of video formats but not all of them. Often users mistakenly upload data files such as project files from their editor or audio files (YouTube is a video sharing site). The solution is to encode your videos to a format that YouTube likes (h.264, WMV, MPEG-2).
