I don't want to be automatically logged in to the gmail account i use for youtube. Dark Isatari 3/2/10 11:10 PM
I have two gmail accounts -- one for personal mail, and a SEPARATE one for youtube and some other things. I USED to be able to stay logged into to youtube and my primary gmail account at the same time, but now whenever i log into my mail, it kicks me off youtube, and whenever i log onto youtube it autologs me into the gmail account i don't use. THIS IS EXTREMELY ANNOYING, ESPECIALLY SINCE I'VE BEEN ABLE TO USE THE TWO ACCOUNTS SIMULTANEOUSLY UNTIL NOW.
I don't want to ditch my gmail account, but i'm not willing to keep logging into both these sites every single time i try to access them. And i don't want to use the youtube one for my primary mail.
I would be extremely grateful if there was a way to get it back to what it used to be. Thanks.

Unfortunately, it's policy.

Not sure how you got around it before, but you can't be signed into two different Google accounts at the same time (in the same browser -- do you use more than one browser product?).

I usually just use Firefox but i guess i could start using Chrome or IE for youtube, if that's what it'll take...
I really don't know why i was able to do that, but i thought it was normal until yesterday. It was really nice though. If i was doing something sneaky to get away with it i would like to figure out what it was.
But okay, basically there's nothing i can do but be inconvenienced. Got it.
Thanks JDoors.
If Google cares, i for one would appreciate it if i could be logged into them both on the same browser. I don't want all of my online activity forced together!

On youtube, if you go to your account, pick the bottom option "Manage Account" and select "unlink youtube and gmail" you can sign into your youtube (with your Youtube username) without being automatically signed into your other gmail, thus being able to stay signed in to both. Then when you sign back into youtube it asks you if you want to merge them (where you can hit "no"), or it also gives you the option to merge with another google account if you want.

Hope this helps
