How do I go about having age restrictions removed for my email address? I would like to use my work email to establish an account so that I can create a channel. I am a media specialist/librarian for a high school and whenever I try to sign up I get this message:
In order to have a Google Account, you must meet certain age requirements. To learn more about online child safety, visit the Federal Trade Commission's website.
I undestand the need for age restrictions, but I am 36, so I don't think it is necessary to restrict my access. It is important that I use my work email address for the account, as my students will be using the site. If I set up the account with my email address I hope to get the channel "unblocked" from the internet filter that we use.
I have a google account with my private email address: smajask

There is no way to change this? I did read something about the company formation date could now be fixed. Can I submit some kind of paperwork or something else to prove that I am not under 13? Someone, somewhere should be able to fix their error.

No, you need to provide details about the individual who is making the channel and that person must, by law, be over 13.

This issue is not with the channel. It is with my email address. I want to know how to get the restrictions lifted from my email address. Can I submit documentation to get the restrictions removed? Can someone at Google remove this? It is their error that it is restricted. How do I prove that I am 36 years old and my email address should not be restricted?

There is no age attached to my email address. It is provided by my employer and does not include any information aside from my name, position and work extension. It works in any other age restricted website. No children have an email from my employer. The error happened in their Google registration process and has nothing to do with my email. They have attached a restriction to my email address.....logically.

As I said- clear your browser caches and start over. You entered a wrong DOB somewhere and the browser cache retained a copy of this error. The site sees this and is preventing you from circumventing what you initially told them. No mystery, nothing illogical.

I have a large problem related to this topic: I accidentally while being distracted by something entered the wrong DOB, now whenever I click create an account it automatically redirects me to a page that says I'm not eligible. On my google account I'm over 13. I tried clearing my browser cache but it didn't help!

@Slene5- clearing caches etc will work unless the email address itself, a GMail, is listed as younger than 13 (or maybe even a different age from the one you are entering).
If it hasn't worked after a few good clear-outs and on another browser then there is a permanent record somewhere and you will need to use a different email address etc.

Even if I just click create it says error and I don't even type in anything! But I switched to a different browser and it worked.

Well then it was definitely your browser's caches/cookies flagging you up to the system as not eligible. :)

Yes -- happened to me 2 years ago -- it was as Stefanie said
