|When is Rosh Hashanah in 2011?!||nozero||9/20/11 10:48 AM|
if you search on google "When is Rosh Hashanah in 2011"
Google in nice enough to give the answer "Rosh Hashana is on Thursday, September 29, 2011"
where is google getting their info from? are they making it up? any one of the results on the page shows clearly that it start on Sept 28th!!!

Thanks for bringing that issue up! I'm investigating the issue and hopefully will have it fixed.

Technically, it starts at sundown on September 28th. Jewish holidays (or the new Jewish day) starts after sundown on that day. So Yea, the first "Day" of Rosh Hashanah is Thursday, September 29th.

but the question is "When is Rosh Hashanah in 2011" not "when is the first day Rosh Hashanah". and if you search for "when is the first day Rosh Hashanah" on google they don't serve up a date.
Barry why not write a post about this for searchengineland.com and see what people think?

@Barry, Thanks for the clarification on Jewish holidays! We'll be including a disclaimer saying that it begins at sundown of the previous day when we deliver dates for these days. Should be pushed out in the not-too-distant future.
@nozero, I hope that the above compromise is okay with you. We'd rather include the disclaimer to be more accurate than saying the holiday is a day early.
