Google Search Opening Hundreds of Tabs

Google Search Opening Hundreds of Tabs ewingjack 8/17/12 4:13 AM
When performing a search within Internet Explorer (specifically this browser) some users are experiencing symptoms where a Google search causes hundreds of tabs to open, primarily loading "www.google.cm". This causes our traffic to Google to suffer extreme bursts and we are regularly being blocked as suspicious across our entire estate, which is 4,000+ users.

Has anybody experienced this before? Does anybody have any remediation guide? Does anybody have the contact details of somebody I can contact at Google that isn't through an automated (non-replied-to) form submission?

Thanks,

Jack

We also experience this for some of our users, but I haven't found a solution yet. So I hope someone have any tips for me. I will try the hijack this tool.

Although the processes detailed in the help reference had already been carried out, I have repeated with additional measures so as to not have to face more comments such as this.

So far we have scanned the hardware with:

HijackThis
McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise 8.8i
MalwareBytes Anti-Malware
Comodo Anti-Virus

We have also performed process monitoring with Microsoft's "Process Explorer" tool and monitored live network traffic at ISA Proxy, firewall and local levels (with WireShark).

There is nothing malicious noted in any of this as far as we can see.

All users are working with the same version of Internet explorer: 8.0.7601.17514

We note that the traffic seems to be sent in this format (which is auto-generated, not entered by the user):
