No, there generally wouldn't be a connection with regards to crawling, indexing, or ranking between two websites that are both linked from your Google Profile. 

While not directly your question (as far as I understood it), if you feel that there might be issues with regards to safe-search on one of those sites, please let us know about that using the form at http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/request.py?contact_type=safe_search

i understand that.

but i know that the ranking of a page can be lowered if it links to a website with unsafe content.  and since i would need to have such a link in my profile (for authorship verification of my content on that unsafe domain), is my understanding correct that this could negatively impact the ranking of my g+ profile?

or does google treat "Contributor To" links differently and do not penalize g+ profile for linking to a site containing unsafe content?

and maybe, this could, indirectly, affect the ranking of my other sites that are linked by my g+ profile (and that link to it)?
