Google translate visits causing a server spike scipilot 2/9/10 2:18 PM
I have read the FAQs and checked for similar issues: YES
My site's URL is: www.ableize.com

My site is getting visited by http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c at a high rate and often causing a server spike to the extent of my host stopping coverage to protect other sites on the shared server.

Example http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c provided 55.7 of all hits to my site this month alone.

My question is

A what is http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c and why does it visit my site

B would it harm my overall hits and serps if I were to block this url from visiting?

I would really appreciate some advice on this as i'm now worried that if this continues it could kill my site or force me to get a dedicated server, somthing that I cannot offered to do.

Thanks

Regards

P.S when I click http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c it opens a google page and reads:

Yeah,
Well.. According to my knowledge, I will say it as

1. Some bot might be hitting your site and leaving the user agent or header IP value as http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c
2. It might be a malware attack for your site too.

3. It might also be a try for DDos attack.

A what is http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c and why does it visit my site

It will not visit. Answer in the above 3 points..

B would it harm my overall hits and serps if I were to block this url from visiting?

It will not harm your site.

I suggest you to clean all ur files and upload again.

Thanks,
Vishnu

Hi ronnyb

http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c was causing major issues for my site by visting it in massive amounts, so much so that it caused server spikes so bad that my host stopped hosting my site, I have blocked http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c from visiting, the problem has been resolved and my serps are still the same some 5 plus months later.

Thanks for your comment.I had a warning from google whit "This site Can harm your computer"
When I had eliminated the hacker ,he send me mails from a google-account under google-groups.
Now by this google translate url.I don't understand why google nothing can do against this sort of things.
Once I see a google-link,I expect a clean site.Now
I will block the url.
I hope he don't have a new step.
Thanx for your quick answer.
