52.376552,5.198303 Dead body being dragged, do something about it..
Re: Just letting google staff know, Their is a dead body here... 52.376552,5.198303 Florian De Rop 4/15/13 1:14 PM
Yeah. The link is spreading fast. Somebody should act immediately (if it's really what everyone thinks it is.)
However, I have some other, maybe more plausible solution:
Somebody just came out of the water and the dry pier was made wet by their footsteps or water dripping off their bodies. That's why you can see footsteps up north.
Problems with this hypothesis:
- Path goes from wide to thin on the pier
- A lot of "water" in one place
- What are the other people doing there
- No person in swimwear

Problem about the blood hypothesis
- There should be blood on the path too if the "body" was dragged there
- Why is there so much blood in one place?
- What's with the "blood" footsteps (up north)?
- There's no sign of a van being backed up and the body being dragged out
- Why would someone drag the bloody corpse all down the pier and leaving obvious marks?
- Why would someone dump a body in the middle of a beautiful park?
- Why would they dump it from the pier and not just from the bankside?

I have no idea what it is, but authorities should be alerted.

I just came up with a better idea. The "red" is caused by a wet dog.
The dog got out of the water and then made a few steps. Then it "shook" the water off him, explaining all the water in one place.
Still doesn't explain some other things though...

This couldn't have been caused by someone swimming. If you look at the shadow, the whole dock itself is enclosed when you get to the octagonal part of it. Also, it looks like there were two bodies if you follow the trail of blood and see that there are two separate trails. There are also two people standing near the one that was still on the dock. The other one must have been dumped into the lake already. The reason why I say it's blood is because this looks extremely suspicious and if the stains were caused by water, they wouldn't be showing up red, they would look more black. These people could have been attacked at the beginning of the dock and were then dragged.

Regardless, this is extremely upsetting and something needs to be done. I hope Google will take action and notify the Dutch authorities.

I don't think that the dog theory. If it's a dock, or pier, then surely it would've been "glossed", or treated so it doesn't get mouldy from water?
I also don't see a dog there, and by the looks of it, there is someone "lying" under a blanket, supposedly being the dead person.
Surely the dock would've been waterproof, and not able to soak in water and make it that colour/color

i think its a wet black dog that jumped in the water then swum back to land hence the dirt inflammation on the left hand side of the pier in the water, who then ran back up the pier, the pier being very dry wood and causing a shiny almost blood effect on it with water the big patch is probably where the dog rolled around, and if you look at the "black dog" he is facing his owner (i think the two are just a couple) with a wet shine on its furry back and can also make out its tail and the white dot under tail is just all over the pier(probs a sort of mold =s). i rest my case.

Wow..
.I noticed that there is a black cabinet near the trail

It is defenitely a brown dog if you look closely it is sitting facing its owner. Also there isn't a coffin because it is clearly a bench.

Nothing to see here guys

If you go down that trail to the intersection with the other trail, and go left a few inches and down, you'll see a big open rectangular box. What could that be? A coffin? Is it related?

on quaie can see 2 person and a black dog.

the second person is tipped to pick up a stick.which is in the dog's mouth (you see the dog in a position to play)

the people launching the stick in the water, the dog crosses the bridge and go into the water passing to the right of the photo.

the comings and goings of the common dog created the illusion of blood.

My friend told me about this and its crazy. I hope its not a murder and I doubt it is due to the fact that the dock is closed in, there are houses and other people around. It is a public place and in the middle of the day. It doesn't really make sense to be a murder. A possible thing could be fishing, they gutted all the fish. Maybe a person got hurt on the dock. You can't rule anything out because it is a 2d picture. Hopefully Google addresses this immediately.

It's a shadow of a tree cast over the dock.

Re: Just letting google staff know, Their is a dead body here... 52.376552,5.198303 Mysterious Stranger 4/21/13 11:49 PM
Right, so there are hypothesis that go a number of ways. I'm just simply here to point out that should you decide to explore the immediate area down the path leading from the aforementioned area, you would find a sizable item (a large, dark rectangular box, if you will) that could have possibly held a body. It's difficult to detect what the two white items located on and beside the item.  Obviously, as we can learn from the shadowing, there are two individuals located by what could may or may not be a body.

What the case is, is simply too difficult to tell.  Mainly because the image is of such poor quality.
What we know is this:

1) It's broad daylight.
2)  There are people milling about nearby.   Quite nearby.  (If only three or four.  I state four, as there is also what appears to be a moped parked aside a bench situated directly across the water from the scene.  It is difficult to detect where or not the owner is situated near it as the sun is so bright that it's affecting photo quality)   Continue on past the rectangular item to the right, and you will see for yourself.
3) At such a time of day, and with people nearby, it would have been exceedingly foolish to attempt to dump a body at such a location.  Then again, many crimes are committed in such a way that it should have been painfully obvious, and yet went unnoticed.
4) There is a (suspicious?) item nearby that could possibly have been used to store something human sized within it.  A vehicle may have dropped it off. That would explain why there are no bloody marks leading up to the 'crime scene'.

If the box (?) had been dropped off, and the body carried from that point to the scene, then that could explain what marks there are.  The body would likely have been heavy, and depending on the size of the individual, even with two people to share the load, simply too much of a burden and therefore dragged it partway.

I don't particularly go one way or the other in regards to the belief as to what the image truly is.  I'm merely stating a few obvious items that the odd person may or may not find that they have overlooked and find thought provoking.

I shall continue to see what I can find out on this interesting location.  Perhaps in the weeks to come, we shall learn whether or not this is as suspicious as some so obviously believe it to be.
Re: Just letting google staff know, Their is a dead body here... 52.376552,5.198303 Mysterious Stranger 4/21/13 11:51 PM
I'm not sure that the marks are quite the right pattern for that...  It is an idea, however.
Re: Just letting google staff know, Their is a dead body here... 52.376552,5.198303 Mysterious Stranger 4/22/13 12:00 AM
There is an item that could have been used to fit a body inside it, which could possibly have been dropped off by a vehicle.  That would explain the lack of evidence of an actual body being 'dragged out' and why there is no blood on the path itself.  Even with two people. the body could have been quite heavy, and therefore dragged it partway.

"Why would someone dump a body in the middle of a beautiful park?"
"Why would they dump it from the pier and not just from the bankside?

Ponder this for a moment.  A number of obvious crimes are committed in the view of the public eye.  And they go unnoticed much of the time.  Yes, perhaps a few people will notice something not quite right, but nothing so out of the ordinary that they would be so suspicious as to do something about it.  I'm not saying this is the case for most cases, however it does happen and may have influenced the decisions of, if the assumptions of some are correct, people attempting to dispose of the body.

just stop speculating things! That kind of shit doesn't happen in The Netherlands, IT'S JUST A DOG. Imagina yourself a dog seen from above while sitting on the ground facing its owner. There isn't a coffin it is a bench, google better closes this stupid thread.
Re: Just letting google staff know, Their is a dead body here... 52.376552,5.198303 Chris Hunt 4/22/13 4:26 AM
You do realise that, not only is Google not the internet police, but they're not the actual police either. If there were a dead body being thrown off this dock, you should contact the Dutch police instead of Google.

But of course there isn't.

There are two people and a brown dog on the dock (it's easier to pick out if you zoom out a little). One in a pale green top leaning on the rail, and the other in a brown top bending over to (presumably) get something out of the dog's mouth. They've been throwing that something into the lake, whereupon the dog goes over or through the railing in pursuit of it. When he's got it, he swims back to the bank and walks (dripping water) back to the people. Find some reddish wood, drip some water on it, it turns a deeper red.

> If it's a dock, or pier, then surely it would've been "glossed", or treated so it doesn't get mouldy from water?

Treated, ceratinly, but not glossed - that would make it slippery when wet. Pretty impossible to maintain too - especially on a surface that's going to be walked upon. I've seen a lot of wooded bridges and similar outdoor structures, I don't recall many that have a high gloss finish. Wood stands up pretty well to being wet anyway - that's why they've made boats out of it for millenia.

> a big open rectangular box. What could that be? A coffin?

Dutch criminals must be a really classy bunch - sure they dump your body in a lake, but they go to the trouble of getting you a proper coffin first. How considerate. Except that the "coffin" is actually a park bench and its shadow.

The murder could have been commited ON the dock, explaining why there are no blood drag marks.
