Google Voice will still route calls through your service plan with AT&T. When you place a call on the iPhone webapp, you actually dial a Google Voice access number. The Google Voice system then connects you with the number you want to connect with. Dialing the access number is just like dialing any other number on the iPhone; thus, you will use your AT&T service and minutes.

Thanks for the reply. I misunderstood the use of the application. It makes it worthless for what I need. I cant get a good signal at my home so I was hoping to use Google Voice via WIFI on my phone so I could still use it at home.Any ideas of how to do that (Skype or any other service)? I know I can call through my computer but was hoping to call through my iphone. Thanks again.

Click on the first result of the Google Search linked below. It describes a recently released Skype app for the iPhone. That may meet your needs.
