|GV voicemail not sending email notification / transcription||Tyler Robertson||8/22/10 8:31 AM|
Recently my GV voicemails are recorded on my iphone's voicemail and not on GV. More frustrating is the email notification / transcription feature has stopped working.
I have the appropriate settings selected for email notification but it only goes to iPhone vm now...
How do I restart email notification?

Activating Google voicemail for your non-Google number http://www.google.com/support/voice/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=165656
Activating Google voicemail for your a Google number, click the GV Settings link at the top right of the Google Voice. select Voice Settings, select the Phones tab, click on Activate voicemail on this phone and follow the prompts.

That doesn't exactly achieve what I'm after.
Here's what I need:
Previously calls to my GV number would ring to my mobile, if no answer the call would then be answered by GV voicemail. I would then recieve an email notification/transcription. This has stopped working UNLESS I remove the setting to FWD to mobile.
How can I replicated what previously worked so well?

There is no "Activate voicemail on this phone" option. Only showing " Deactivate..." option. I've deactivated and there is still no other option presented.

If you're both a Gmail and Google Voice user, take advantage of the Google Voice player in mail lab so that you can listen to your voicemail messages right from Gmail http://www.google.com/support/voice/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=160782
Sign into your Gmail account > click on the little green flask bottle to the left of Settings in the upper right corner of your Gmail page > page will refresh with Gmail Labs > scroll down to the following text:
Google Voice player in mail
by Robert D
Lets you play voicemails left on your Google Voice account right from the email notification.
> click on the Enable button > Scroll to the bottom of the Labs page and click on Save Changes.
Note: Gmail Lab has an additional SMS item:
Text Messaging (SMS) in Chat
by The SMS Team
Allows you to send and receive text messages (SMS) in Chat. US phones only for now.

For some reason, this stopped translating my vmails and letting me play them from the phone. It SOMETIMES works, but more ofthen than not, doesnt.
