Yes, it should be.  I seen it run a couple of times on 64-bit Vista and didn't see any issues.

In general, a 64-bit OS can run 32-bit applications... so it can run Picasa.

The 64bit Operating System can only run a 32bit software if the Operating System you're using has a compatibility feature to run the software as a 32bit, the architecture of a 64bit Operating System is totally different than a 32bit ( so it can install it but that is efficient and compatible is another story). My question is simple is just a yes or no answer, i'll rephrase. Is Picasa 3 designed to work with a 64bit architecture? (yes or no please).

I am guessing the answer to your question is no.  Someone from the Google will have to chime in on this question.

Your original cryptic question was wether Picasa was compatible with 64 bit operating systems, not if it was optmized for them.  Don't jump on us for answering your original question.

Thank you Robert, sorry if you feel that I was jumpy or rude. Is that for my particular case I am getting contradictory information on this the software does not especify if it is optimized for 64bit Operating Systems and nor I can get a straight answer from Google. My main concern is that this has caused a lot of conflicts on my system and I need to know that information to proceed with troubleshooting because if is not then that is my solution, to cease the use of Picasa until a version is developed for 64bit. Thank you for your honest answer, is there a way to confirm with Google? or you are sure is not optimized for 64bit?

I am using Picasa on a 64 bit installation of Vista with no serious problems.  Perhaps a version of Picasa optimized for 64 bit operating systems would perform better, but is is certainly compatible

I really need to know if it is optimized, if is not lets consider is not compatible for what I need it to run. is there a way to get an answer from Google?

Google employees monitor this site.  They may chime in.  It would be helpful it you could be more specific about the problems you are having.

I too would like to know if Google has a fix or a plug in to allow Windows 7 Home Premium with a 64 bit operating system.  That is what I have and I am having problems.  Now I'm afraid to work with it all for fear I will lose pictures.  Hope somebody can answer this problem.  Google experts:  Where are you????

Picasa works on Windows 7 64 bit.  THOUSANDS of people are running it that way without issue.

If you are having problems, please be specific about what is happening.  It is most certainly specific to your environment, and not a general problem with Picasa running on Win 7 64 bit.  But only with specific info can anyone here help.
