Print Multiple Pictures on one 4"x6" sheet! captainmeow 10/20/09 6:32 PM
I've tried HP photo print and now this, why won't it let me print two pictures on one 4"x6" sheet! It will let me print two 4"x6" on a 8"x11", so why can't any program seem to scale that down to a 4"x6" page!

GAH!

No GAH, Captain!

In your printer menu, select paper size 4x6".
In Picasa, select "Wallet Size" .
Down at "Number of Copies": Set it to 2.

Voila! 2 wallet-sized pics on one sheet 4x6".

I made this collage of two of my collages using "Picture Pile" so I could make an extra width between in case you need to cut them apart.  If you don't want to cut them then close this wide gap.
I you use "Grid" you can lose a little of the picture around the edges if you open the grid too far.   I make a lot of pictures using several pix on each page.
Mostly I use 4x6 size.

I am going to try Pixel's way my self because I know it can be tricky printing different size pictures on different sized paper!

Nice collage, Patch!  The background color is a nice touch.
I just chose 4x6" w/white border.
I think the most common mistake is to select the wrong print size for the paper size.
Obviously,  two 4x6's are not going to fit on one 4x6" sheet!

It's SO much easier and cheaper to just let Costco print my photos.
Just my opinion.  :-)

I use these and each pack is well under $20 AU.   Quick, easy, cheap way to go.  Great results.

Pixel, following your advice I get two copies per 4X6 page but they are not wallet sized, they fill up the page. Clicking additional copies does not reduce the image size and add additional copies per page but simply adds more pages.

Lind, I print my own Corel "Paint it" modified photos on Matte paper, otherwise I agree that making one's own prints is not cost effective.

Lefty.. 4x6 is 4-inches by 6-inches.  Asking for MORE pictures doesn't make them smaller... it just makes more print (thus the extra pages)

There are only a limited number of print sizes available but you have to pick a smaller print size to fit more on a page.

I'm trying to print wallet sized prints on 4X6 paper. I can print them on Letter size, which is 8&1/2X11 and not get only a single, full sized, print, but I don't want to print up an entire 8X10 piece of paper for only two to four wallet sized prints.

So, how can I print wallet sized prints on smaller paper sizes is one way to rephrase my question.

Picasa's "wallet" sizes are bigger than most people expect. They are about 2.5" by 3.5".

Therefore, you can't fit more than one on a 4x6 piece of paper (you need 5x7 or bigger).

You can print more than one picture on an 8x10.  If you want more than one PICTURE (like one of Aunt Berth and one of Cousin Joe) then select both pictures before hitting print.  If you want more than one COPY of a picture (like two of the same picture of Aunt Bertha), pick the picture, hit print, and then look for "Copies per photo" +/- on the left side.  Hit the plus to get the second, third, fourth... copies.

Picassa's wallet size are 2&1/8"X2&3/4" when printed on 8&1/2"X11" paper. That's the size I'm trying to print on smaller paper. It doesn't print that size on 4'X6" paper (one print each would be fine). It does print the 2.5X3.5 size. Why won't it print the smaller size?
Re: Print Multiple Pictures on one 4"x6" sheet! Byteguy 10/15/10 8:57 AM
Honestly, I've never seen wallets from Picasa that print smaller than 2.5x3.5.  It makes no sense that the size of a picture would change based on the paper.  Something else is going like "shrink to fit" that's causing a picture to APPEAR smaller when you are really printing the same size but part of it is added-white space you can't see.

PhotoScape (free program) includes a very powerful printing engine that lets you set exact sizes.  That's one of the ones I use when I need total control.

Thanks for the suggestions. I downloaded PhotoScape but don't see any advantages over the normal print function available in XP. I can't find a function that allows me to locate the photos where I want on the paper and I don't see how to custom size them but I did discover that 5X7 cm gives me close to the print size that I want.

If you want ABSOLUTE control over size and location... the only way to go is a desktop publishing program.

I use PagePlus by Serif but that costs $ (not a lot) but I also use Scribus (free) which you can get at http://www.scribus.net/

It's a bit more learning than you absolutely need but you get to pick the location and exact size.

Pixel, please explain the information I've uploaded to my web albums.
It is found uinder tools,options,printing.
What do the sizes on the buttons represent - photos or paper size?
And why are the same options in each menu?
Thanks
