RSS feeds from Google News moonty 6/30/09 4:35 AM

Hi,

I'm trying to get a RSS feed from Google News. The search I've done is:

Arsenal site:lequipe.fr

Which returns 33 results. However when I click the RSS button on the site I get the following URL -http://news.google.com/news?ned=us&hl=en&q=Arsenal+site%3Alequipe.fr&output=rss - which has no results. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is this a Google bug.

Thanks,

Josh

google seems to be messed up when it comes to RSS feeds... until about a month ago or so, the RSS used to be exact same as the web results... dont know what happened now. intentional or bug?

Hi moonty and saja183,

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. It seems that there are engineering changes being made to the Google News RSS feeds.
I'll keep you posted when this is fixed.

Hi moonty and rushtybrick,

Our engineers are working to release the fix in a week or so.
We appreciate your patience as we work to improve Google News.

HI all,

RSS feeds on some news searches have also stopped for me. When i do another news search and then click the RSS feeds button I get presented with an error message that says: (indents added)

> Whitespace is not allowed at this location.
> Line: 1 Character: 72

The format of the search was "test & search" - ie a three term phrase search including an ampersand as the central term (in the original the ampersand was part of a company name). As alluded to above, this feed was working fine until recently.

Is this part of the same 'fix' issue?

Cheers
Clinton
