|Google Maps not working in Google Chrome!||ezelinski||9/21/09 9:41 PM|
Using latest version of Chrome on WinXP.
I just tried to search for a location in google maps, and no search returns any results or changes the page at all - I still see the default zoom level of the entire US.
I then installed the latest version of chrome and tried again. I even restarted the computer. Nothing worked. As of this post, I cannot search and get results in Google Maps in Chrome.
-- I can load the main Google Maps page. It loads with the default zoom on the United States.
-- I can manually manipulate (zoom, scroll, etc) the map.
-- When I type ANYTHING (search term, specific address, city/state, whatever) in the search box and hit "Search Maps" I get no results. No results in the left sidebar, no results shown on the map.
-- When I try to get directions somewhere, I can type in a start point and an end point, but when I press "Get Directions" I get a server error where my directions should be.
-- Maps works fine when I test it out in Firefox and IE 7.
Any help would be appreciated. Hopefully this is just a small oversight on my part and not a larger problem with Chrome or Maps.

I have the same Google Maps not working with Chrome browser (18.104.22.168) problem as outlined in your "More specifically:" section on my workstation. This problem appeared around a week ago. I had hoped for a quick 'accidental' recovery, but haven't seen one.
On this same workstation, Google Maps behaves as it should using:
- Firefox 3.0.14
- Safari 4.0.3
- IE 8.0.6001.18702
- Opera 10.0 (build 1750)
Anyone know what might be going on here?

I would like to say .. yep. Same problem here. In addition .. the "My Maps" shows a tutorial on using My Maps instead of the listing of saved My Maps. OH. Open up in Firefox .. and everything works.
I can understand issues with other software or websites .. conflicts with other coding ... but COME ON .. this is their OWN stuff .. geeze.

Check your Google maps in Chrome again. Mine still wasn't working at 10:00 am central, but it is working now. I didn't change a thing. Thanks, Google.

I had this problem before, it seemed to resolve, and now it is doing this again (same as discussed above). Google Maps works fine in IE and Firefox. I am using version 126.96.36.1994. Any recent answers?

Lots of people have been having it again recently - no answer yet except waiting for it to resolve itself. Most recent posting from another thread:
Same problem for the last week or so:
- it loads the page at my default location
- clicking on the map or search for something prompts the yellow box <loading> at the top
- try again and it says <still not loading? try our trouble-shooter>
- trouble shooter offers no assistance (even their directions for clearing the cache are wrong)
- works in IE, Firefox and other browsers - Chrome problem only
- recently installed Google Earth - uninstalled it but problem persists

It hasn't been working for me since about a week ago (Still today at 4:00pm PST on 5/7/10). I'm on a Mac with OS X 10.5.8.
Hopefully a fix will be released soon :(
