You can apply basic edits to your photos, apply filters and effects, and add text to your photos right from the Google+ Creative Kit. Here's how:

Click your shared photos from the Google+ stream, or navigate to your album on Google+.

Click the photo you wish to edit to open it in Lightbox, then click Creative Kit near the top of the window.

Apply basic edits, like boosting highlights. You can also click Auto-Fix and Creative Kit automagically updates your photo.

Apply effects to your photos, like Lomo-ish to make your photos look like they were taken with a toy camera.

Decorate your photos with stickers, or doodle and draw on your photos.

Finally, add text in various fonts and colors.

This is a quick primer or intro to the Creative Kit. If you have your own tips or tutorials, please share them below, cheers.

I was wondering if more of the tools, particularly the make up tools from picnik would be also added to Google+?  Picnik was such a great editing site I just hope that ALL of the great tools make their way over to Giogle+. Is this a possibility?

Hi Vin33, it's a good request and I'll share it with our team. Are there specific features in particular that you're looking for, or features that Creative Kit is missing that you really need?

A good feature to re-enable, for me, would be the vignetting tool.

Why should we have to post a picture to google before we are allowed to edit it? On picnik all we had to do was upload to the sight and save and close the picture when we were done. Google has gotten way to complicated.

I was really sad to see that most of the Picnik touch-up tools were gone. I really enjoyed the options like mascara, blush, eye and teeth whitening. It would  be nice if the creative kit could bring back these options, and hopefully one day fully incorporate all of Picnik's awesome features.
Re: Edit your Google+ photos with the Creative Kit Brian 5/10/12 2:41 PM
Hi Steve, as a creative workaround, you can use the Lomo-ish effect and reduce Blur Edges to 0% and Fade to 50% to add vignetting to you photos. Note that this will also increase the contrast. Another option is to use the Vignette effect via Picasa 3.9 for Windows and Mac, which you can download at http://picasa.google.com/

mascy and AndreaJayne, thank you for your votes for the mascara, blush, and whitening tools. I'll follow up with our team, thanks.

How come the quality of the picture changes when I save to my computer? It's smaller and the quality is really bad. You can see the pixels. Is there a certain way to save it?

Hi poison.anne,
After you have finished editing and while still in lightbox view, click on Option at the bottom left of the page and then select Download Full Size.

Still don't know how to get Creative Kit.  Can someone help?  Thx

I don't know how I can better explain the steps Brian already outlined at the start of this thread.

It assumes that your photos are already uploaded to Google+ and in an album ready for the editing.  Sign in to Google+ and then follow the steps at the start of this thread.

I'd like to be able to upload photos directly to Google+ from iPhoto without having to transfer them to my desktop first, or be able to upload and edit without having to log in or even register. The less steps I have to go through to start editing and applying quick effects, the better!

I agree with Andreajayne. I miss all those awesome tools, especially mascara. Would love to have those options back.
