Explain your issue in full detail here:

Every time I open my gmail window, I get an alert saying you want to run the Google Talk Plugin Video Accelerator add-on.
I don't want to. The only choices I see are to click the 'X' to run the add-on or to get rid of the alert--which i have to do basically every time i log in to my mail. This is annoying. I went to my settings, but couldn't figure out how to turn this alert off forever. Can you please help?
Thanks!

Hey all,

Thanks for your reports of this. This was added in a recent update of our voice and video chat plug-in, although we did not intend for some users in Internet Explorer to be prompted to run it. We're working on resolving that issue. In the meantime, utilizing a different browser should resolve it.

Thanks for hanging in there!
Cody

Cody,
I wonder if you can keep us posted on this issue- I too have it on my computer and find it very annoying.
I would also like to know what this add-on does? If it worth downloading? Is it fromGoogle?

I FOUND HOW! I went to Change/Remove Programs in my computer, I found there something like "Google call" or something like that and I removed it.
I did not know that would work but IT DID!

Sorry I don't know the exact name of the thing that I removed but you can try finding something like "Google make a call" in your computer.

I hope this helps.

I found by doing what someone said about going into Change/Remove Programs and deleted Google Talk Plugin and that has taken that pop-up off.

Seriously Cody?  You did not intend for this to pop up?  Use a different browser?  Is this another one of google's evil strategy to get people to switch off of IE?  Google is getting more shady every day.  You have thousands of programmers and you can't figure out how to disable a stupid notification?  You're sitting on billions of dollars of cash, have some of the most talented programmers in this nation, and yet your solution is to switch to a browser?  Which one?  Perhaps chrome?  Oh that would work wouldnt it?

Is this a joke?  Google screws up and their repsonse is "Use a different browser" and people THANK them for the help?  If Microsoft did that, they would be chastisted by Google fanboys everywhere.

And worse yet, it is not 4 months later and htis problem is still occurring.

I PURPOSELY installed the plug in when only Chrome was open because that is all I wanted it to work on. GOOD companies know that have no right to change settings ANYWHERE without explicit consent.  I realize Google is getting scared of various competition, what with Facebook being more visiited than Google these days, but that does not make it OK to act like a typical spamming company.

I just got through reinstalling Win 7 on my computer because something happened to my Internet Explorer 8 such that I could not get a link to open a second window, so now I am 'gun shy' about things like this popping up every time I open Internet Explorer.

I read the responses about deleting Google Talk Plug in and am reluctant to go messing around with my fresh installation.  How safe is it to simply delete Google Talk Plug in without invoking new surprises?

I too am disappointed with Goolge for forcing a Pop-Up about permitting something each time I opem IE 8 with no real knowledge as to the safety of what they are asking for.

I would expect Google to have much more information on this topic that I get with a Goole query?

Is Google filtering out data that makes their products look shabby?
