|How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||edward0512||7/10/10 12:23 PM|
I saved my image to Google docs but the URL doesn't transfer to an image on my signature. I want my photo to appear below my Gmail signature.
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||edward0512||7/11/10 10:17 PM|
I saw that the other day but they are asking for a picture URL. Do you know how I can get a picture URL from an existing saved picture? I have no idea how to do that.
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||edward0512||7/11/10 11:00 PM|
Yeah it doesn't work. When I post the URL into web address signature slot the button to press OK stays shaded and won't let me finalize to signature
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||edward0512||7/12/10 12:44 PM|
The 'OK' box remains shades after placing the URL so that doesn't work and there is no option to upload image from docs just the URL option
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||edward0512||7/12/10 1:09 PM|
When I add a link in the URL box it just says "If your URL is correct, you'll see an image preview here. Large images may take a few minutes to appear." in the box below and the 'OK' key is shaded and can't be clicked on so not sure what else to do. I tried everything else and nothing works. All the other components of the new Google signature tools (txt size and color) work except this one.
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||dangerousmonkey||7/19/10 5:57 PM|
if you have the image on your desktop or if it is set as your Gmail photo, you can drag it right into the signature text box. you may have to rearrange some text and if there is a bold outline around the image, there is a link in it. click on it and click 'remove' next to the website url if you don't want the image to have a link in it. I hope this information is helpful!
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||dangerousmonkey||7/19/10 6:01 PM|
somtimes instead the image it just says 'picture'. to change thing delete the current image and drag in the image again.

Thanks. That doesn't work either. I will wait for Google to fix the problem.
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||Mike Rotchsmells||7/21/10 11:17 AM|
I've found ONE way that works. Instead of using the 'insert picture' icon, I right clicked a picture in Picassa, copied it, then pasted it in the signature window. Worked great (and the only method that has so far - at least until google fixes the "ok" button)
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||deetran||7/22/10 5:28 PM|
THANK YOU MIKE ROTCHSMELLS!!! IT REALLY DOES WORK
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||Tidy Mart||8/6/10 3:40 AM|
2) Open Documents and Upload the image in Google Document (Make sure the Image size not larger then 314 x 235)
3) After uploaded the Image in document click the file and open it, once its open fully, copy the link which is in the Browser
4) Go to Gmail settings you can find Signature in that, click Insert Image, past the link which you copied.
5) Click okay then save the setting its working fine...

THANK YOU MIKE ROTCHSMELLS!!! IT WORKS.
But how come that Google cannot make a simple way to insert a picture in your signature?
I hate to say it, but Outlook is much simpler.
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||vinnykaka||9/27/10 5:42 AM|
Hi to all,
The easiest method that is guaranteed to work is the following.
1.send an email to your gmail account attaching the image.
2.when viewing the email, you have a choice to view the image or download it. click view.
3. copy the URL from your web browser. e.g http://mail.google.com
4. in gmail, go to the settings link, which is on the top left of the page
5.scroll down to the signature box, click on the icon which lets you insert an image. it will then ask you to enter a web address (URL).
6. paste the URL from step 37. your image will now be in your signature.
8. bobs your uncle....enjoy!!!
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||cotto01||10/5/10 10:11 AM|
Nothing else worked for me except Vinnykaka response. This worked perfect every time. You have to remember never to delete the email that you sent to yourself with the pic that your linking to your sig. If you do the link will be lost and invalid.
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||serenayeo13||10/6/10 10:20 PM|
I tried Vinnykaka's method to send the picture to myself, viewed, copied the URL, insert to the settings image URL, doesn't work:((
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||vinnykaka||10/8/10 5:32 AM|
My method does work as i have checked it again.
Im not sure if the browser that you are using matters but i use safari & google chrome and it works perfectly!
can you also let me know what happens when you paste the URL as what should happen is your image should be displayed. You then have a choice to resize into small, medium, large.
once selected, click OK
its really that simple.let me know by replying to this post and i will do what i can to help you get the image in your signature.

Still cannot get my logo image into my signature email line. I've tried all methods listed and it simply does not work each time. How Frustrating!! Does anyone else have a better idea? how come the OK button in insert image doesn't work? Am I missing the proper format fr which to copy and paste in? Help? thanks.

User Firefox instead of IE browser. In my case, the "OK" button just does not work in my IE browser but it worked fine in Firefox and I'm allowed to attach photo into my signature.
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||let me speak||10/25/10 11:10 AM|
Sure this works in other browsers than Internet Explorer, but if anyone opens your email in IE, they AINT going to see your image!!! AINT is a southern technical term in case your wondering.
WTF is wrong with google, they have a File Upload for a stupid contact image, but not one for the Signature !!>?!?!?!
Someone there needs to get off Facebook and visit the real world where profile pictures are not important. Period.

|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||jwb7535||11/2/10 6:22 PM|
Vinikaka method works perfect with Chrome browser.
1) Email image to yourself
2) View image (do not download) from e-mail using current browser session. Do not launch browser twice or URL will not be recognized.
3) Copy URL
4) In Google e-mail signature, click the Insert Image icon
5) Click the added picture to size (original, small, medium, large)
6) Click OK
Works well with PNG file. Some file formats may not work.

FINALLY - Success using Vinikaka's method:
I spend HOURS AND HOURS trying to get a pic url from Facebook photos, file conversions, etc. Duh.
Thank you Vinikaka!
You are my savior tonight :)
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||vinnykaka||11/10/10 5:28 AM|
Glad I could help as it's really frustrating when you can't get the image inserted into your signature.
Maybe its good to be a bit geeky...
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||dgrunig1||11/11/10 6:21 PM|
Ok this is pissing me off!!! Everything that was mentioned above is working except the image is not showing. I have the image saved in google docs, copied the url, and went into settings and added the url link and pressed ok... Still no image!! WTF.. It even gives you the option to "test the url" or go to the link. It takes me to the link with my logo??? Why the hell isnt it showing up in the signature box??? PLEASE.. the image is not to large??/ WTF
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||vinnykaka||11/12/10 4:58 AM|
I think a slight tweak is required. you do not need google docs for this
firstly, which browser are you using as this may not work with internet explorer. try google chrome which is what i highly recommend or firefox.
1.go to your inbox and find the email where your image is stored.
2.click to open the message
3.now scroll down to the bottom and it will show the image as an attachment and you will have a choice to download or view, select view.
4.copy that url
5.in the signature box in gmail, click on add image and then paste the url that you copied from step 4
you should now be able to see the image in your signature.
hope this helps
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||marteekakarland||11/21/10 5:28 PM|
my photo signature was working fine until this morning. NOW I'm having the same problem as everyone else. it wont' let me attach a picture from a file. I copy and paste an image from the 'web" and it appears in the preview, but when i save and go to send an e-mail, it's not there. when i try to paste a url, the OK button is grayed out. nothing seems to be working. is this a glitch in google or have they stopped offering this service for e-mail?

I dont know what an opera browser is. I dont know what a google document is.
I copied the URL as described by several people above. I pasted the url name in to my signature box. The url is there. However, that is all that is there, no photo. So I open up a letter to send and my signature box is there with the url name. When I double click on the text name my photo comes up, but what good does that do me. I want the PHOTO to be there not a text url name? Max
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||realtyperson||12/30/10 8:56 AM|
I found that none of the ways to get a photo into the signature box using picassa or anything worked. The easiest way I finally found to do this is obvious, You go to your gmail. You go to the left side where it says compose.
The composing of your letter will be your address with the way you normally would. At the top where you can insert various images into your email letter there is a green triangle. Click on that and then IMPORT (not from a url but from your hard drive) the photo you want to have in the letter (your logo)
When you have everything aligned you have what you would like to see in your signature then COPY what you have done and it will paste into the address box.
Let me know if it works for you. MaxS

I'm sorry, but I don't even know what Opera Browser IS! Is anyone else in the same boat?
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||keeneyplk||2/5/11 7:40 AM|
Vinnykaka - thanks so much! It works great. I also used Labs to enable embedding images from my hard drive, which is a nice feature, too.
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||resizeit||2/11/11 8:58 AM|
I think the size is important, whatever the method. Try to use only images bellow 100x100 px
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||keeneyplk||2/11/11 10:00 AM|
My logo is 200x90 px and it works fine with vinnykaka's method.
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||sliotine||2/16/11 11:44 AM|
I was successful in getting my picture in my signature.. However, i was not successful in resizing it.. I am a giant on my signature and I cannot find anyplace to resize it. Is it possible some pictures they wont let you resize?
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||keeneyplk||2/16/11 12:02 PM|
sliotine: I think you have to resize it in a picture editing program before adding it to your signature.
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||Johnnymag||3/2/11 4:36 AM|
Hi all - I'm afraid none of the methods would work for me - I've tried with Firefox, Chrome, IE, Opera and tried sending the image (it's a .tiff file which pasted straight into Outlook) to myself and also uploaded into Google Docs but the OK button simply stays greyed out in the signature section once I paste the URL into the Insert Image section.
Very frustrating (and illogical). I've signed the petition!!
Any further suggestions warmly welcomed.

I unloaded the image to Yahoo flickr and photobucket and it don't work. Only I create an account to Google Doc and upload the image into the google doc, I open two google chrome browser and drag the image to my gmail signature text box and it work for me.
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||DwainLam||4/1/11 11:58 AM|
The key here is to use Google Chrome when working. I had the same frustrations, but they were resolved when I logged in there. I am assuming the world of GMail will always be sunny when useing Chrome...
|Re: How do I add my picture to my Gmail signature?||magicalsummer||4/11/11 1:00 AM|
