Is Google experiencing push problems with Gmail? Cause for the past day or so, my Android phone is having problems receiving Gmail messages in a timely manner, if at all. This is my main Gmail account that is synced with the phone. (My secondary account is also not syncing up correctly either.)
I've done a factory reset with the phone and it still is not working. Any ideas? Need any more info from me?
Thanks for your help.

I'm having the same problem. I'm having to manually refresh in google mail to get new mails. I've rebooted, and that didn't fix it. It was working fine a few days ago.
I've also checked all the google sync settings on my phone and they are all turned on.
I'm using a HTC Hero on T-Mobile (UK).

Same problem here as of this morning on a US Sprint HTC Hero. Something tells me it's a push server outage.

Also been experiencing this. Was fine this morning up till about midday GMT at a guess. Now I am having to manually refresh to get email.
I have turned the phone off and on cleared the Gmail storage etc. Nto done a factorty reset as I'd rather avoid it.

Just checking to see if you're still experiencing this issue?
Have you tried the steps outlined in the referenced article below?

I should have asked earlier, but could everyone clarify whether they're using the app called 'Email' or the app called 'Gmail' on their Android devices?

Official Gmail Android app here.

I'm using the official "Google Mail" too. I followed the troubleshooting guide, and it has been working better this evening.

I have an iPhone using Google sync and my mail gets delivered instantly. However on my Sprint HTC Hero using the mail Gmail App it takes 2-10 minutes to get the same message.

Things seem to have improved for me as well as of a few hours ago. Wish I knew if it was phone- or service-related, or a combination of both.

Official Gmail app as well. Though, like A.T., it seems to have started working again.
Eth@n, do you think this was a server-side, service, or phone related issue?
|Re: Gmail push to Android||themaninthesuitcase||10/22/09 1:07 AM|
Yes it was the official Gmail app.
Mine started workign again at about 8pm GMT last night. I had just redone the steps in teh trouble shooting guide for the 2nd time so might have been that or could have been a sever issue seeing as it's all fine again.

Thanks everyone for replying.
Just to close the loop on this, I did check in with our team, and it's possible the issues you experienced with Gmail sync were indeed related to a brief hiccup on our servers. As you have noticed, things should be back up again.
Apologies for any inconvenience!
