My Google Calendar doesn't synch completely with my Android Calendar. Some events just aren't showing. They do show up on my Google Calendar. Does Android calendar have a problem with repeating events?

Yes, same here!!!!!
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar fcsuper 3/4/10 10:52 AM
I am having this same issue with my Samsung Moment since the latest Sprint OS upgrade.  Events on my Google Calendar are not showing up on my Android phone calendar!  I need a resolution quick.  I already missed one important meeting this morning due to this issue!
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar sgsmorrison 8/2/10 8:17 AM
I am also having the same problem. Some events show up, others don't. I can't seem to see a pattern either. I now can not rely on calendar and have to double check when on the computer.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar Outlook man 8/7/10 6:41 AM
same problem! Samsung Galaxy S, with Android 2.1. syncing with Outlook has all sorts of problems.

Problem 1. for repeat appointment entered from Outlook, my phone greys out "start date" and "end date". for an appointment starting today, the phone will go back many, many years, while the greyed out "start date" shows now. the greyed out "start date" can't be edited.

Problem 2. the phone created duplicates of appoitments for some reason. the duplicates are only on the phone. when one of the duplicates is deleted (one left), the Outlook will have none of the same appointment. so I physically deleted both records of the duplicates. sync with Outlook to clean up the mess. then re-enter the same appointment, then sync again. this is a lot of work considering the total # of appointments in my calendar, but at least it's resolved. the Problem 1, as described above does get resolved. I repeated the same process, but it keeps coming back.

Calendar is only part of the Outlook sync problem. Android won't pull contact's pictures from Outlook. there are many other minor issues in the looks, etc.

some advice appreciated!  :)
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar nexusall 8/19/10 6:21 AM
I also have this problem.
I just geuss a reason of this problem. Not repeated events that already ends 2 month ago are not appears.
However, google must fix this problem. I and others want to see all events even though those ended.

Same here...have new Samsung Intercept. Google Help has not updated & given us an answer. I love all the aps, but Palm has Google beat on syncing with your home computer. This is not fun.
Google- PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM!!!
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar robbielink 8/20/10 9:50 AM
On Samsung Moment 2.1 not all events on Google Calendars are getting synced to phone. Mostly ones more than 2 months in the future.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar barger.joel 8/24/10 7:15 AM
Same thing on my  HTC hero. Scheduled a cal event today doesn't repeat and it doesn't show on the phone. Hey Google your calendars are borked!
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar Keith Wansbrough 8/31/10 2:14 PM
HTC Desire, Android 2.1.  I had a recurring event in Google Calendar (on the web) which wasn't syncing to the phone.

I found the problem was that "ends on" was set to a date in 2099, rather than "never".  Changing it to "never" fixed the problem, and the event now syncs correctly.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar btcaldwell 9/6/10 1:21 PM
HTC Aria, Froyo. Some of my calendars' events aren't showing up on the android calendar. I had to edit titles, re-save, and then they came through.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar rogj 9/7/10 11:00 PM
Samsung EPIC. Android 2.1. Same problem...Some of my calendars' events aren't showing up on the android calendar. I had to edit any field, re-save, and then they came through.
Google, please fix this!!! This is unacceptable...you are going to have a bunch of users missing appointments.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar shweber215 9/8/10 8:36 PM
I have the Epic and can't sync it to google calendar at all - frustrating. Gmail & contacts weren't a problem.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar umpalumpajay 9/9/10 9:36 AM
Incredible Android 2.2  Also have the problem.  Put events on computer and some just don't ever show up on the phone.  If my wife adds an event at home on her laptop, i see it on my laptop, but not always on my phone.  Definitely something that kind of sucks.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar grodriguez1 9/10/10 2:49 PM
Same problem on Droid X 2.1.
I'm not getting all my calendars
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar mylipsbutbetter 9/12/10 3:53 PM
Same issue on my T-Mobile MyTouch - some events created in the last few months just won't show up no matter what i try.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar Ohmyhero 9/12/10 4:12 PM
TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM:  When you create an event on your phone's calendar the default selection for the calendar is "my calendar"  (ie. if you "add event" the first "calendar" section will select "my calender" by default.)

To fix this problem I recommend opening your calendar selecting "menu" --> "calendars" --> and the UNCHECKING "MY CALENDAR."  This will make your google calendar the default any time you create a new event on your phone.  The down side to this approach is that it removes all previously entered events from "my calendar" from view.

Alternatively, when you create an event you can just select your google calendar from the "calendar" drop down instead of the default "my calendar."
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar custompcoutlet 9/30/10 2:36 PM
Thanks for the solution.
Anyone have any hints on an app or apk method to sync or pull the old "mycalendar" appts over to a google calendar?

Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar Keith Wansbrough 9/30/10 11:41 PM
You could try the mIQ app from Best Buy Mobile. It might do what you want.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar delevine 10/13/10 1:08 PM
I have the epic and need to sync my phone to my work calendar which is in outlook I was able to find it once but last week my hard drive gave out so now I'm back in the same place I was when I purchased the phone. Can somebody tell me please where I can find the calendar sync button
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar jhankins717 10/13/10 2:37 PM
Ohmyhero's solution gets me part where there -- so thanks for the help. The piece that does not work is that when I uncheck My Calendar in the menu is does not make the Google calendar the default. New entries still default to My Calendar but now  I know to make the change in the entry. Not a big deal but one more thing to remember. Any advice on how to get Google to be the default calendar. I've got a Samsung Captivate.
Thanks
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar ownatlantarealestate 10/16/10 10:44 AM
SOLUTION:
I have 2 calendars in my google calendar account and only one was syncing to my Samsung Android phone but i fixed it.
In your phone calendar, go to SETTINGS, then CALENDAR SYNC, under Manage Accounts click on your google account and make sure SYNC CALENDAR is checked.  Then hit menu button and click on SYNC NOW.  You will see the Sync circular logo if it is syncing correctly.  Once the logo disappears you should have all your google calendar events showing on your android calendar.
Hope this helps! :)
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar cybrslug 10/18/10 3:55 PM
Edit

My Wife has the My Touch 3G running 1.6. I have the Samsung Captivate and was running 2.1. We both use Google Calendars, and shared them so that we could each manage and edit eachothers events. I upgraded my Captivate to the 2.2 firmware that was available from Samsungs website. Once I got my device all steup, I soon realized I could no longer see my wifes Calendar. After some frustration, I took a shot on an odd option in the device setting page. I noticed that in Settings> Account & Sync, I could add and account still. I was not sure if if was going to over write my profile or just add another one, but I had nothing to lose as I already lost the ability to see all that I needed from the Calendar. Turns out I was able to add my wifes Google Account to my phone while still have my profile intact. I selected to only sync her Calendar and left Email and Contacts unchecked. Low and behold it worked!! When I looked at my Google Calendar on the device, I see her enteries and my entries on the devices Calendar not two seperate Calendars as I assumed would have happed considering there are two accounts now being Sync'd.

This is not my preferred method, and the Calendar is still chalked full of issues, but at least until I revert back to 2.1 this is a work around.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar cybrslug 10/18/10 3:56 PM
UPDATE!!! A Master reset resolved my Google Calendar issue. Once I set the device back up with my Google Account, My wifes Calendar events were showing on my Calendar.

Hale Hale Master Reset!!!

How do you do a master reset.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar strangesteve 10/31/10 4:28 PM
My Google Calendar doesn't sync completely with my Android Calendar. Some events just aren't showing. They do show up on my Google Calendar. The issue I am having is NOT with 'repeating events' but with "shared calendars" my partner and I share a calendar to plan for events but lately i've noticed that not all her calender events are synced to my phone. I have android 2.1, and have <my calendar> and <my partners calender> selected with the default "MY CALENDAR" unselected.

I have tried to do manual sync as well to no avail both on the phone and on google web site via PC. If on android 2.1 I go to "settings" > "accounts & sync" - where i have 'background data' and 'auto sync' enabled, I select "google" entry and see that 'sync calendar', 'sync contacts' and 'sync gmail' is all selected - even tried the "sync now" button which doesn't seem to do anything is this a known issue? Any suggestions for a "fix" ?

Some one mentioned "MASTER RESET" is this some special procedure effecting the whole phone(?) or does it simply mean removing the 'google account' from phone and then re-adding the same 'google account' back to the phone????

Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar joerhau 11/2/10 3:45 PM
I experienced the same issue. Seems like deleting calendars data using menu-settings-manage applications-...-calendar storage... and a fresh sync (post by ownatlant) afterwards solved it.

Good luck to you...
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar strangesteve 11/5/10 12:06 PM
joerhau : "I experienced the same issue. Seems like deleting calendars data using menu-settings-manage applications-...-calendar storage... and a fresh sync (post by ownatlant) afterwards solved it."

this turned out to be a very bad idea - although i was able to delete the data, i cant get it to sync up still - so now rather than just missing a few (or some of the data) my calendar is completely nuked. :(   luckily i can log into google cander on web and look, but phone just wont sync.... looks like i might have to do master reset unless there are any other suggestions....
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar TOBDNCNG 11/5/10 11:55 PM
My problem is that I have spent hours taking out stuff on each calendar.  I have a 64 bit machine and an EVO.  I now get a notice each time I have the automatic sync saying  "you have 60 deleted events from your Outlook Calendar.  Do you wish to continue or do this action of deleting the items".  It has been doing this for 2 weeks now and even though there is something that comes up and says all is synchronized, I still get the message each time the sync starts.

Also, I was using CompanionLink to help with the syncing, but the category gets left out of the contacts.  What gives there?  I feel like I am going crazy.

And why can't we get an e-mail address for an event from the contact list?

Lastly, my phone has duplicate entries for many contacts.  One says phone, the other says Google.  I saved one to phone not thinking anything of it.  I received a message it might get lost and have not been able to find it since.  Any ideas on this?  Wish I had my WM back.

Using beta version of Pocket Informant for Android too on my phone now.  still having sync problems on my laptop.  Don't really know what to do.

Have spent about 100 hours trying to get all this to work, plus 30 hours with Sprint.  The only time it synchronizes correctly is on the first sync, but never thereafter.  I wonder if it is the 64 bit that is the problem.

Looking forward to your answers!
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar jwkruege 11/7/10 4:20 PM
Do Google employees ever respond to posts here given they do not offer any other kind of tech support?  The original question in this thread was posted in September 2009, I just got my HTC Droid Incredible yesterday, and lo and behold, I'm having the same issue now.  I imagine this post will be labeled "inappropriate" since it does not provide any technical solutions to the problem of the original post, however I feel it is worth noting in this space that the same issue exists 14 months later with no intervening resolution or feedback provided by Google itself.  Shame on you, Google.

http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=114500

The instructions on this link helped me.  Sometimes its a syncing issue, so if you clear the data and restart your phone it should work.  I was missing a calendar and when i did this it became available.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar CloudStrife7 11/9/10 6:13 AM
I attempted kellscanlan's solution and it didn't help fix the problem on my phone.  I am having the same issue on my Samsung Galaxy S Mesmerize.  For some reason I can only select "My Calendar" and not my google calendar.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar echansen 11/15/10 10:10 AM
ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION:
I know most people aren't asking for an alternative program, but I was struggling with these problems until I downloaded "Jorte" and started using it as my calendar.  It has a function that allows you to set your default calendar as your Google account calendar, not the "My Calendar" on your phone.  It's also really customizable and has great widgets for both your calendar and tasks.  I recommend  using it, at least until Google fixes the default calendar issues.  This would be helpful for at least some of these complaints and I've never had any syncing issues with the 12 or so calendars I have though different Google and Apple accounts.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar blackbaa 11/23/10 7:03 PM
I've found that editing the "ends on" date from something specific (usually calendar year 2100 is default) to "never", followed by a resync on my phone corrects the problem, at least for repeating events that are multi-day.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar ngoshawk 11/28/10 7:16 PM
Just tried the Jorte calendar, synched and...it did not help. Same calendar issues. COME ON google! Fix this! This issue was reported over a year ago!!
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar rjp4 11/29/10 3:16 AM
I was having this problem and lost one my largest calendars, I run about 5 total.

From mytouch 3g, I went in the calendar, menu, more, my calendars (all 5 show with check boxes next to them), menu, remove calendar, select offending calendar, log into google calendar on pc, refresh, then back into my calendars on phone, add calendars, added old offending calendar.  Phone then resyncd and found the missing appointments.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar Juic3 12/15/10 4:05 PM

Try this.

One of my calendars wasn't syncing and this solution worked.

Settings > Applications > Manage applications > Hit the Menu Button > Filter > All > Calendar Storage > Clear data > OK

This will clear the saved calendar data and the next time you open your calendar app, it will re-sync your calendars.

Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar ShSuRo 1/19/11 9:31 AM
I have many calendars in google, but only my main calendar would sync to my default android calendar (Samsung Epic).  I tried everything listed here, I cleared my data storage and re-synced, etc, nothing worked.

Finally, I decided to look for an app to use instead of the default calendar.  I downloaded Jorte (free), and it worked perfectly.  I also decided to compare Calengoo ($6), and when purchasing it was stated I had 15 minutes to ask for a refund.

15 minutes was NOT enough time to evauluate it properly, so I kept it, and am currently comparing the two apps.

Both sync ALL my google calendars perfectly, have great apps and numerous other features the default Calendar app doesn't.

SOLUTION?  DUMP THE DEFAULT CALENDAR, AND TRY JORTE OR CALENGOO.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar mlpomer 1/24/11 11:49 PM
I was having a similar problem, in that some of my repeating events did not show on my android phone (Samsung Epic), but all repeating events did show on my google calendar.  Some of these events were created on my phone, some on google, and some on Outlook.  I finally solved my problems as follows.  I looked at each of the repeating events on Outlook and Google, comparing them to the events on my phone.  All of the missing events on the phone were repeating events that had no end date.  I did an edit on those repeating events from google and set an end date a few years into the future.  Did a couple of syncs from my phone and now everything is the same on my phone, google, and desktop Outlook.  It seems that android has a problem with repeating events without an end date.  Hope this helps others, it fixed my issue.  Great site with lots of good info, thanks to everyone for all the input.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar mlpomer 1/24/11 11:52 PM
Just another quick note.  I use both the stock calendar app and CalenGoo.  Neither would sync my repeating events that had no end date.  Once I put in the end date, both apps synced all the info fine.  I highly recommend CalenGoo, I have been using it for a few months now.  The info visible on the screen is just what I was looking for.

Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar vdroberts 2/15/11 6:58 AM
I having problems syncing daily repeating events that DO have an end date.  They were entered in Google Calendar (web) and do not show up on the Android app ver 2.2. The only way to make them appear is to turn them into individual daily events. Am I doing something wrong?  If not, is there a fix for this in the works?
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar Ryan Wignes 2/15/11 12:41 PM
Clearing calendar storage data works but the problem is that I I have to do this every time I change something on my computer calendar or android calendar. Any easier solutions?
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar nev.. 3/3/11 4:51 PM

If some calendars are syncing but not others try this

> Open calendar app
> Menu
> More
> Calendars
All your calendars should now be displayed with a tick if they're being synced.  If there are missing calendars...
> Menu
> Add calendars
Any additional calendars will now be displayed.  Put a tick in the box and OK and they will be added to the list on the previous screen.
For some reason, occasionally different calendars in my google account sometimes completely stop syncing and I can find them in there.  I have no idea why they drop off like that.  I make it now a weekly practice to check that there are no calendars in the list to be added.

Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar bramweiser 3/3/11 5:04 PM
Thanks, nev, but, at least for me, it's not that the calendars don't sync at all...it's that they don't fully sync for whatever reason.  (Please notice the title of this thread,"...not synching completely...")

In my case, non-recurring events that are more than 30 days old don't sync automatically from Google Calendar to my Android device...not until I'd somehow edit/modify them.  New events do, recurring events do, but not those.

Thanks for the idea, though,
Bram

Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar reedjasonf 3/6/11 6:17 AM
I did this and now none of my calendars will show up... :<

Did a factory data reset and the only calendars showing up is "Default" which isn't even the name of my primary calendar for events that are showing up. I have three other calendars on google and none of them show up on my calendar now. Did google calendar get updated recently?
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar EDR2008 3/6/11 7:24 AM
I was able to solve this issue bij removing some birthdays from my GMail calendar that I synced in there from Outlook. When I removed the birthdays from my grandparents (recurring from the 1920's) the problem was solved (after I cleared the Android calendar and resynced). The calendar seems to have no problems with birthdays recurring from the 1940's.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar bramweiser 3/6/11 10:10 AM
Hey, EDR2008,

I'm glad your issue's been resolved, but please know that what you're describing doesn't cover the extent of what everyone else has been experiencing, too...so this is still outstanding.

I (and others) hope that Google can/will fix this soon.

Thanks,
Bram
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar robert.j.e.jenkins 4/1/11 8:32 AM
The "Best answer" may have worked at one time but not anymore. Clearing Calendar storage data does nothing to solve the problem on my Galaxy-S phone (2.1) and Tablet (2.2).
Calendar sync is just a major fail.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar JSFEcho 4/15/11 5:46 AM
I have three accounts (Personal, Business and Auxilary)  that I sync calendars from.  My main account (Personal) also has rights on the other two.  I also display both my wife's and my two kids clalenders from my personal account.  Thay all worked perfectly!!!

About two days ago, my Business calendar stopped showing up. I tried viewing it by synching the account from my Business account.  No luck.  Tried viewing it from my Personal account.  No Luck.  Cleared the Calender data as described above and saw all other calenders again, but still not my business calendar.

What can I do?
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar andriodnoob 4/28/11 10:37 PM
Disable sharing of calendar with another google account.  I did that and all my calendar entries goes into the andriod 2.2 on galaxy s.  It seems that if you display account B in account A which is active, then there is a bug to prevent account A to fully sync into your phone.  Account A and Account B should be independent and not shared.  To display both accounts, choose from calendars to display in the phone.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar rcmeade 5/8/11 10:41 AM
One of my calendars was not syncing and this solution worked!
Samsung Epic.
(I screwed it up several times by selecting Calendar and not Calendar Storage. You MUST SELECT "CALENDAR STORAGE")

Settings > Applications > Manage applications > Hit the Menu Button > Filter > All > Calendar Storage > Clear data > OK

Now, turn your phone off and then on again.

Start up Calendar App.

Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar dbaines 5/8/11 11:44 AM
Verizon HTC Incredible Android 2.2... same problem.. stuff just stopped syncing after almost a year..data and sync shows last sync May 3, 2011.. I tried forcing it to sync, nothing happened.. (I just recently turned on WiFi on my phone..so I wonder if that's part of the problem?)  Clearing calendar storage appears to have worked (all though it created duplicate events, etc so I had to do some cleanup of my calendar)

Android is a Beta OS. Even the newest one.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar micklette1963 5/14/11 1:42 PM
I am now able to view ALL my calendars, just as if I were signed into my google account from my computer.  I was unable to view (1) of (4) total calendars on my droid incredible calendar.  I realize the following solution is very basic and may not be the issue, but just in case, I wanted to share what worked...

Solution:  The owner of the "missing calendar", had not shared his calendar with my gmail.com account, established when I purchased my phone.  To summarize, the owner of the "missing" calendar must share his calendar with your google calendar AND the gmail.com account, since gmail appears to be the "middle hub" required for google calendar syncing (i.e google calendar routes to gmail routes to droid...).
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar StrmHorse 5/23/11 4:54 AM
Hey all,

I followed Juic3's procedure, and it ALMOST worked... here's the trick for me that made it work for me:

First, under Settings > Accounts & Sync, un-check the Background Data.
Then follow Juic3's procedure:

Settings > Applications > Manage applications > Hit the Menu Button > Filter > All > Calendar Storage > Clear data > OK

Here's the background for me:  One day, my Google calendar simply stopped showing up in the Calendar app.  I couldn't get any appointments to appear.  I added them from the phone (Samsung Moment) and from my laptop; they'd show up on the calendar in the browser, but not on the phone.  When I 1st tried it, it didn't work.  I tried it again, and SOME of my dates became available, as well as a test appointment I'd put in there on the Phone.  So, I killed all the sync, killed the background sync, and tried it again, and Voila!  It worked like a charm!

Thank you for everybody who posted helpful hints on this list, you're lifesavers!  Wintergreen, even!
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar scotsguard75 5/24/11 5:09 AM
I just tried StrmHorse's suggestion after 2 days of trying close to 50 other suggestions and this is the first one that appears to have worked.  I am not sure how or why, but it did.  I am also unsure of what impact turning off the background data sync will have on other applications, but my calendar is more important than any of the others so I will adapt.  Thank you for the response.  Much appreciated.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar bikeman123 5/25/11 12:35 AM
My orange san francisco is running 2.1 update 1.  Since yesterday all calendar events (NOT just those olde rthan 30 days) have disappeared. Events are still in online calendar. Tried deleting phone data, turning off/on sync as per all suggestions here. Nothing works.

I cant believe this has been an issue since 2009. Well done Google! How these guys ever became so successful chucking out products that never get past beta just goes to show how stupid we all are.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar Dee1000 5/25/11 4:18 PM
Exact same problem as bikeman123 I tried juic3 and strmhorse's suggestion but it just deleted the little bit I had added since the update. It has deleted everything and is only syncing new additions to the calendar. it's all online though. I am at my wits end, does anyone know if google are listening and going to fix this, if not I'm off to apple - this is the last straw!

Just had the same problem and followed StrmHorse's suggestion as well.  So far it is working great!  Thanks.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar chicagostyles85 5/25/11 5:06 PM
Ok I just want to let you know what worked for me.  I have a samsung moment and all of a sudden had problems with my google calendar not syncing some of the items.  Some would show up not mostly not.  The only thing that definitely showed up was the holiday schedule for some reason.  All the information was preserved on my google calendar online, but not on my phone.  I don't know if it's apps that I downloaded that corrupted the file or what, but I have not had problems with it prior for over a year.  Anyways, I tried the above options clearing the calendar cache and reloading the calendar to no avail, trying the Jorte program with no help still didn't show up.

Finally what i did was I cleared the cache and then went under the android calendar program, hit the menu  button and went under the "my calendars" tab.  Then clicked the google tab at the top and it displayed my two calendar's:  US Holidays and my personal google calendar"  I hit the menu button and clicked remove calendar and clicked and removed my personal then re-checked it and bingo.  It fixed it.  So maybe you might have to clear the cache and do this as well.

Hope it works for you.

Jeff
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar Skyhiigh 5/26/11 12:50 AM
Settings > Applications > Calendar STORAGE > Clear Data.

Then open up the calendar again and wait for it to refresh (or Menu > Refresh).

At the start of this thread someone mentions to clear the "Calendar application storage data" - yes, but also clear the Calendar Storage application data too!
(It's listed as a seperate application on the Applications list)

Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar bramweiser 5/26/11 12:58 AM
Dear Skyhiigh & everyone else,

Yes, clearing the Calendar Storage data, and then re-syncing it, DOES bring in a fresh set of data there.

However, at least with my Motorola Droid (& probably, for all I know, with various other models that use Android, too), this does NOT totally solve this problem for, as I'm sure I posted earlier...

* Non-recurring events that are more than 30 days old do NOT appear on the phone when the data get re-synced, though they still are online at the Website
* Future edits to reminders (such as changing how much time before the event that a reminder should happen) don't typically sync back to the phone when they're done at the Website
* Overlapping/Duplicated entries CAN still happen nonetheless...for example, the Jewish Holidays calendar used to call June 8-9, 2011, as "Pentecost", but recently had additional entries ON THE SAME DAYS on the phone that, instead, said "Shavuot" (transliterated Hebrew for what the holiday really is called).  The "Pentecost" entries remained until I reset the data as Skyhiigh and others (Strmhorse, etc.) have described, but they SHOULD have been removed when their name was changed (the Website has shown just "Shavuot" recently) instead of becoming a second, "duplicated" set of entries.

I wait with bated breath for Google...or whomever...to please(!) fix this soon...

Thanks,
Bram
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar ubeaut58 5/26/11 2:13 AM
My calendar stopped working and I noticed that if I updated an entry on the google calendar on the web then it appeared on my phone so I thought if I update ALL of the events then how so I do it?
Glad you asked.
I exported the calendar and then imported it back again and then all the calendar entries appeared on my phone again.
Hope this helps someone.

I tried skyhiigh's suggestion to clear both calendar cache's and it worked my phone is synching again ...thank you
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar michal.p 5/26/11 8:31 AM
Same problem happened yesterday on my HTC Desire with Android 2.1 update 1, all data from phone calendar disappeared while stayed on server. I've tried a lot but only StrmHorse suggestion worked.

First, under Settings > Accounts & Sync, un-check the Background Data.
Then follow Juic3's procedure:
Settings > Applications > Manage applications > Hit the Menu Button > Filter > All > Calendar Storage > Clear data > OK

Then manually sync calendar.

BUT - when I enable background data sync - same thing happens - all entries disappears.

So the problem isn't totally fixed...

Any suggestions?

Michal

Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar JessMoment21 5/26/11 2:31 PM
Just noticed this happening to my Moment.  Had it for 9 months and just noticed this problem.  I have been using my calendar a little more lately, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Like chicagostyles85 above, only the Holidays were displaying.  Clearing the Calendar Storage, resyncing, turning off background data seemed to work.  But either the events would disappear, or be visible in monthly view(as green events), but not under Agenda.

I eventually turned off the Holiday calendar from the google calendar website and it is working fine.  I'd rather show the holidays as well, but my calendar is more important.  Didn't try a hard reset.

One day, my Android calendar just went completely blank. I could still access my google calendar there were no issues there, it just wasn't syncing up anymore.

I first tried re-syncing it but it didn't work. I cleared out the calendar storage data (Settings > Applications > Calendar STORAGE > Clear Data), no joy. I removed all recurring event from the google calendar, cleared data and resynced, still nothing. When I entered an event in the Android calendar it would sync with the Google calendar. So, I tried entering an event in the Google calendar and it synced with my android.

So as a solution, I removed all events from the Google calendar and re-entered them back in, cleared the calendar data on the android and synced. All working fine now.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar MomentIsCrap 5/29/11 11:53 AM
@StrmHorse - Thank you, worked like a charm
@Scotsguard75 - I turned the background syncing back on and it seems to still be working.  I think it just needs to be off when you clear the data to stop the continuous syncing so it can get a clean sync when you start up.
@Bramwieser - Not sure what's going on with the duplicate entries, but as for stuff more than 30 days old.  Check this: from the calendar MENU ->MORE ->SETTINGS ->APPOINTMENT SYNC RANGE -> ALL
@Everyone who said their using a Moment - I'm sorry!  Apparently we all bought a buggy piece of crap.  They stopped making it about 2 months after I got mine, and the replacement has since been replaced because it was a buggy piece of crap.  I'm currently waiting (anxiously) for my anniversary date when I'm eligible for full credit on an EVO.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar bramweiser 5/29/11 12:04 PM
Dear MomentIsCrap,

Thanks for the idea, but my Motorola Droid (Build Version 2.2.2) does NOT seem to have an "Appointment Sync Range" choice at that point.

Also, please let me clarify...

It's not that NO appointments sync if they're older than 30 days ago...it's that NON-RECURRING appointments don't sync (i.e., don't show up) if they're older than 30 days ago.

Also, for what it's worth, I've noticed that, if I change, say, the reminder time for an appointment in the online calendar, I don't know that it'd appear in the mobile one afterward, too.

Does this change your advice?  Thanks again.

Bram
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar bramweiser 5/29/11 12:05 PM
MomentIsCrap,

Oh, and the "duplicate" entries that I saw weren't exact duplicates.  One said, "Pentecost", and another said, "Shavuot" (the Hebrew name for the holiday).  As such, maybe the change of the name in the Jewish Holidays calendar "fooled" my Droid into keeping both entries as it didn't realize that they really referred to the same thing even though their names differed.

Thanks, though,
Bram

Thanks again for the help!

I have separate calendars for work, social & kid's events, so they appear in different colors.  2 of the calendars weren't syncing.  Clearing the calendar data in the manage apps section & re-syncing brought them back on line & now I see them on the device.  Yay!
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar Dorkbot 7/1/11 12:29 PM
I'm using Android 2.3.4

My Android calendar would not show all of my Google calendars.

I cleared the data for Calendar Storage.  Then opened Android calendar, it synced and showed different Google calendars this time, but still not all of my Google calendars.

I again cleared the data for Calendar Storage.  On my PC I went to Google calendars, opened an event, closed it.  Refreshed the browser.  Then I opened Android calendar and this time it synced and displayed all of my Google calendars.

That seems to have fixed it.  But I shouldn't have to do this.  Someone needs to fix this issue.

BTW
I've used many calendar syncing processes with different kinds of devices and setups (outlook, apple's mobile me, Palm, etc.) and they have all had problems.  Mobile Me as really @#$! me over many times.  I feel obligated to share my experience and say that this annoying Android calendar syncing issue is, while unacceptable, not unusual.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar bmwbaggers 7/21/11 11:57 AM
This solution worked for me :

Settings > Applications > Manage applications > select Calendar > clear data. Next open your calendar, menu, more, calendars, enable your Google account again.

Now works fine again, all data restored.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar nelsonj3 7/30/11 5:19 PM
I use Business Calendar Free and had to reset the Calendar Storage and reinstall Business Calendar. Everything working now.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar SubsetSum 8/1/11 7:41 AM
I was having this issue.  Recurring meetings were showing up, but not all of them, and none of the non-recurring meetings.   I had the same issue with Jorte.  I think it's that google sync doesn't pick up certain meeting requests that were sent prior to a certain time.  So, I went in to each meeting and just did a save/close after making a small update (for example my recurring 1-1 with my manager didn't show up, I edited the subject line to add "weekly" or some such, then saved and closed the meeting.)  I also added some new appointments to my calendar as a test.  I synched and everything is there.  I'm using a samsung galaxy tab.  This is a lifesaver, now I don't have to panic thinking I've got a 9 am meeting when I really don't.

A footnote to Juic3's reply from 12/15/10
After taking the steps outlined in the fix, go to Settings>Accounts&Sync and select the GMail account with which the phone calendar is syncing.  Un-Select SyncCalendar.  Re-Select SyncCalendar.  This should complete the re-sync process and recall all data stored on the Google calendar to the phone calendar
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar AkiraX 8/17/11 2:48 PM
HTC Desire 2.2

Tried the clearing of Calendar and Calendar Storage caches and then turning off/on my phone, but that didnt work. Next I went onto Google Calendar from my desktop and un-subscribed to the silly holidays calendar. Went back into Calendar and refreshed it, BAM! everything is working just fine now! I have multiple calendars from multiple sources, no issues, everything syncs and updates just fine (even with background data and automatic Sync turned on!) Thanks to everyone who posted with suggestions. Hope this helps some other users out there. (Really?, a holiday calendar caused this, wow...)
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar diana.l.dagostino 8/20/11 2:14 PM
Events and changes I add to Business Calendar on my phone are not updating to my online calendar.  Does anyone know how to fix this without going day by day through my phone's calendar to update the online version manually and uninstalling/reinstalling the app?  My phone holds the master copy of my calendar and the calendar online is just a back up.  Am I missing something?  I'm a recent Palm Treo to Android convert using Epic 4G.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar kwiatu5 8/22/11 4:08 AM
The same problem. Calendar isn't synching properly. I have to do it manually by uncheck and  check again Google Calendar Sync.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar Gelroose 8/29/11 5:11 PM
If you had an old calendar, and are creating a new one via google calendar, and it doesn't sync with your phone, all you have to do is reset calendar data simply by going into settings -> applications -> manage applications.  Clear all the data under calendar stuff, and it should auto sync right with your new calendar.

Hope this helps.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar diana.l.dagostino 8/29/11 6:58 PM
The items that won't sync are on my phone.  I need it to sync to update my online google calendar.  The only other option I can see is to go day by day and update the online calendar, which seems silly since the master copy should be the one on my phone.  It doesn't make sense to delete data and upload the incorrect info showing online.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar justinbayles 8/29/11 6:58 PM
I swapped my Galaxy S2 for a new Galaxy S2. When the new phone connected with the google server for the first time, it wiped all entries in my google calendar from a certain date forward, but left the other entries in the past untouched. I suspect it had something to do with me doing a restore using Kies from a backup of my old phone. The remaining entries would not show up in my phone calendar after a synch. I tried all of the steps in the thread and nothing worked. I did notice that if I created a new entry on my google calendar, it would synch with my phone. Also, if I created a new entry on my phone, it would synch with the google calendar. Somehow the remaining entries in the google calendar had been marked somehow and my phone would not download them. I solved the synch problem by following these steps:

1) Create a local copy of your calendar. Go to Settings\Calendar Settings\Calendars\Export Calendars. A zip file will be downloaded containing an icf file.
2) Delete your google calendar. Go to Settings\Calendar Settings\Calendars\Delete. A box pops up with the following:

You are about to permanently delete all events on your primary calendar.

This action cannot be undone.

Yes, I definitely want to delete all of the events on my calendar.

3) Re-Import your calendar. Go to Settings\Calendar Settings\Calendars\Import Calendar. Select the icf file that you generated in Step 1).

Re-synch your phone and your back in business. As far as restoring the entries that got deleted, I am still waiting on a reply from Google on that one, but I'm not holding my breath.

I had this problem and it was a low memory problem. I found on http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=114500 (thanks to the person on page 1 with the link) that Google will not sync when there is a low memory condition.   Deleted some apps and now everything is there.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar ACampion 10/3/11 3:04 PM
This solution fixed my problem, however It should be noted that in order for the sync to work with all my calendars (I use 50+) I had to have them all open, i.e selected at the time I re-opend the application for them all to sync with my phone.

Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar Mutkey 10/5/11 12:40 AM

I MADE IT WORK WITH 2 OF THE SUGGESTIONS IN THIS THREAD.

1 - I turned mobile off/on (Galaxy S)

2 - As per Juic3 I cleared the data

Settings > Applications > Manage applications > Hit the Menu Button > Filter > All >

Calendar Storage > Clear data > OK

3 - As per ownatlantarealestate I re-sync ALL my calendars

In your phone calendar, go to SETTINGS, then CALENDAR SYNC,

under Manage Accounts click on your google account and make sure SYNC CALENDAR is checked.

Then hit menu button and click on SYNC NOW.  You will see the Sync circular logo if it is

      syncing correctly.

Once the logo disappears you should have all your google calendar events showing on your

      android calendar.

That's it. I hope it works for you too.

Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar skiwithchar 10/9/11 12:21 PM
Thank you, mlpomer! This finally worked for me!

Gory details....

I also had no luck whatsoever with any attempt to clear any cache, clear any data, uninstall, uncheckmark and recheckmark sync options. removing and adding calendars, yada yada yada yada YADA.

Then I unearthed the mlpomer post (submitted back in January 2011) on this forum that suggested that SOME repeating entries with no end date made up the bulk of the entries that didn't appear on Android calendars (this includes Business Calendar, Smooth Calendar and the standard calendar, in my case).

It was a HUGE pain, but I went through ALL of the repeating entries that I'd previously created on the web google calendar and put in a 1/1/2100 end date, saved, then synced up the phone calendar. This worked for me.

Another variation that the Jan 2011 post didn't address was for repeating entries that were created by other people and sent to my google calendar online, but that I hadn't explicitly accepted and saved (because even if you don't explicitly accept an invitation, it conveniently still shows up on the web calendar, and I'm an inherently lazy person!). None of those appeared in any of my Android calendars until I accepted, saved, and then synced up the phone calendar for. Another huge pain, but at least these are also in both places now.

For both of the above painful exercises, I went through an entire year of comparing entries between my web calendar and my Android calendar (so, Oct 2011 through Nov 2012), in the hopes of catching every possible item there was to catch.

Yet another variation, and one that doesn't seem to have been solved yet, is that a random few repeating entries with explicit end dates on the web calendar still show up on the Android calendars after that end date - one of these for me shows on the Android calendar for about additional 6 weeks after its web calendar specified end date! This is annoying, but not devastating, since if I HAD to pick having extra entries over no entries, I'd pick extra entries every time. But still, that is something that doesn't seem to have even a cumbersome workaround to like the other two items I described.

SO.. after 1-2 hours of my husband and me trying to look at every phone option to figure out what "I" did wrong with my calendars, plus another 6-8 hours of combing message boards to see what the deal is, and about another 3 hours of searching for and updating about a (seemingly) million calendar entries later (because I put EVERYTHING on my calendar), I now have a calendar on my phone that I think I can depend on again.

Hopefully my rambling post helps someone else get a bit more reliably synced up. And hopefully, too, another freaked out bug like this doesn't get introduced again in the future!

Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar Liefde 11/9/11 4:04 AM
How can Google and/or Android be so stupid as to delete something as important as ALL EVENTS in a calendar from then on forward WITHOUT even asking me for a confirmation dialog?
This is really terribly sloppy coding, whoever created this calendar thing at Google, I'd be fired on the spot if it were me in all my job(s).

And if it's still in alpha or beta stage, why doesn't it say that? If it isn't I wouldn't dare erase all coming events without asking the user about being sure he/she really wants that.

These are the things that make me detest companies like Google. They are so big, or think they're so huge, they assume in their superiority complexed arrogance, that they don't have to deal with actual users and their horrible experiences with their fucking stupid calendar software.

Just like Justin Bayles above I seem to have killed all upcoming events in a calendar just by putting a backup on my android 'smart' phone. The fact that android is a google thing makes it even worse, I mean honestly, you would expect them to KNOW this could (and obviously will) happen to A LOT OF USERS.
Google, once again, you suck for being such bad testers.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar la_reina 1/1/12 9:46 AM
I was trying to figure out why my phone calendar wasn't syncing with my google calendar. I have the DROID BIONIC and realized that when I'm inputting an event on my phone at the very top there's an option that states PHONE CALENDAR. There's a drop down if you click it it'll show your GOOGLE CALENDAR. I tested it and my phone will remember the google calendar and it auto sync. Much better.
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar jillybear 1/22/12 10:38 PM
I think my problem has something to do with my Active Synch being a hotmail account instead of my gmail account. You would think you could just go in and change the account over to the gmail but it won't allow it. If anyone knows how to change it I'm all ears! Thanks!
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar Jay_1_420 1/28/12 6:01 AM
Another solution, worth trying on another thread:

It basically requires you too select the non-default calendar in your phone which is usually set to phone calendar and NOT google calendar.

Anyway, check it out! :)
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar Iceunit 1/30/12 4:33 AM
This has worked for me:
First log on google online calendar with your PC, select an entry that are not displayed on your phone, copy it to another calendar on the same google account.
Second delete the original entry.
Third copy the entry back to the original calendar.
4th delete the copy which should not be there

Now update your phone, Hope it works for you.

I am using a Droid X with Android 2.3.3.

I solved this problem on my phone by opening my calendar on the phone, hit Menu button, press Calendars, press icon to the right of the main calendar so that both items are grayed out (sync icon and "eye" icon). Wait a few moments and press the icon again so that both items are visible. Press OK and the Calendar is now synced. You may have to do this for each calendar.

Regarding my previous comment...This process does not appear to be automatic after the initial re-sync.  I removed an event from my desktop but after 15 minutes, it still appeared on my phone calendar and was only removed when I went through the re-syncing process as stated above.

Am I missing some automatic sync setting?
Re: Android Calendar not synching completely with my Google Calendar jimhbs85 2/17/12 8:14 AM
Juic3,

You are the man! That totally worked. I would then suggest going into;
Menu, Accounts & Sync, touch the Account you want (the account associated with the calendar), Menu, Sync Now, and that will force it to sync up. I am sure that has already been stated her ad nauseum, but I wasn't running down the whole bunny trail of replies to find it, so welcome to the Redundancy Department of Redundancy.

Thanks again!
