|Account freezes while "Loading"||jdammann2||7/3/10 11:02 PM|
Explain your issue in full detail here: I log into my account and see the list of my emails. After I click on an email to read, the word "loading" appears at the top of the screen. This is where my account freezes and I never get to access my email. I've tried this on our other home computer and my account still does not work. My husbands gmail account has been working on and off today but with similar problems.
Please Also Include:
Operating system (e.g. WinXP): WinXP
Program and version you use to access Gmail (e.g. Internet Explorer 7 or Outlook 2003): IE
Your antivirus software (e.g. Norton 2007): McAfee
Any extensions, toolbars or plug-ins: Google Toolbar

Many others have reported similar problems but there seem to be multiple causes.
For some clearing the browser's cookies and cache and restarting fixes it.
I've also seen one person report success by disabling Buzz.
If that doesn't work, try switching to Basic HTML (below the Inbox) Version as a temporary fix. Some people have success using one or the other of the following URLs to sign-in to the Basic version:
When I tested it, I had to open a different browser (like Chrome) to get the links to actually enable the Basic Version.
Using the Basic Version isn't a fix, but as a workaround it lets people read their e-mail while we wait for Google to fix the root-cause.
