I am having the same problem. Have either of you been able to resolve the problem? Mine has been going on for 2 1/2 days now. What is causing this? I'm having the problem with all the google sites: gmail, calendar, docs, Picasa...

I have had this problem for over a week and can only read my emails in igoogle, but it is very annoying coz you cant use all the functions through igoogle. I thought that possibly igoogle couldbe corrupting it and have tried to remove igoogle from my pc but cant seem to find out how to do that!

Some people have reported that deleting the browser cookies can fix the "loading..." problem.

We began having this problem today, but only on one computer with Vista. I can go into settings, then exit and it will allow me to read mail. If I exit gmail and come back in I have to repeat the process. It won't allow a reply, it just displays "rich text editor blocked". I have cleared out everything in the internet functions and the problem just persist. We use AVG 9.0 for security and it updates daily. Anyone having problems beginning today?

MAC OS 10.5.8 I haven't received any email (nor spam) since 5:31 PM EDT Friday 6/25/10. I can send out, but nothing is incoming. My guru says this may be due to that my gmail address is my domain address (problem at Google with "business" accounts?) If this isn't fixed by start of business Monday 6/28 AM, Google is in BIG TROUBLE.

My guru says this may be due to that my gmail address is my domain address...
Does this mean you have a Google Apps account? What's the domain name?

I'm having the same problem in Chrome (Windows 7) but it works in Firefox. Since Chrome is my browser of choice, this is a pain. I'm glad to see I'm not alone but it would be nice to fix it.

Same problem as above; today 6/28/2010 I suddenly can't access my new inbox messages; it opens normally to the usual gmail window and appears to be functioning, but it is frozen in terms of opening and reading any emails as well as doing anything else. Can's access my folders either. Everything dead.I did send and receive several emails earlier today, than WHAM all of a sudden nothing works.Have restarted computer multiple times.

Me too. Started this morning on just one account and one machine, running Vista Business SP1, Firefox 3.0.3 and McAfees, with firewall and real-time scanning on. At that stage I could still get into emails on the Mac and on the pc running Vista Home Premium SP1.
Now it doesn't work on the Mac either! (Mac OS X 10.4.11 and Firefox 3.6.6). I have quickly created a new account and exported my contacts from my old one while I could, using the Vista Home Premium machine. But I have masses of vital info in my folders - can't face the thought of losing all that.
I suspected I might have caused a corruption by downloading and then deleting a whole lot of v. large photos last night. But if so many others are having the same problem...

I have the same problem. Gmail is very very slow, won't open mail, won't send mail. Very frustrating as this is my primary private email account.
|bkc56||6/28/10 7:16 PM|
People are posting different problems here, but others have posted that clearing the browser cookies and cache fixes some delay problems. You should each start with that.

I have the exact same problem. I've tried WinXP, Vista 32-bit, Windows 7 64-bit, Mac OSX, and Solaris. Browsers I've tried are Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Safari. I've tried all combination's of browsers and operating systems on various platforms and systems. The problem is the same on all of them.
I let my son try as well and his gmail account works fine on all OS platfroms and browsers. Therefore, I have to conclude that it is related to my account, and likely many other user accounts, which is likely on a different server managed by Google than my son's account. It would be nice if Google could provide some information on this outage as I would guess that it is a rather large scale server outage affecting many users. It would be nice to know what to expect from Google on this outage in terms of expected resolution. I have some important information in my account e-mails that I can no longer access. I am an IT manager in a large Silicon Valley tech firm so I know outages do occur, and the gmail service is usually reliable, but it is important to be at least somewhat transparent with users when outages occur. Google needs to understand this. Thanks.

Hi, I cleared my cache and my cookies and still, when I click on compose, the word 'loading..." comes up and the page hangs. I can't send emails.

I am having same loading problem. Went to https://mail.google.com/mail/h as previous post suggests and THIS WORKS. I can access everything again. Thanks, asynth!
C'mon Google--help folks out on this. We shouldn't have to solve it ourselves.

My Wife has the same problem.
Firefox 3.5.10 and also on firefox 3.6
I can use gmail fine on her computer or my computer. She is able to log into gmail but when she tries to click on an email it just hangs and says "loading" in yellow across the top of the screen. She is able to use gmail fine on my computer.

Many others have reported similar problems but there seem to be multiple causes.
For some clearing the browser's cookies and cache and restarting fixes it. Others have success switching to a different browser.
I've also seen one person report success by disabling Buzz in their account.
If that doesn't work, try switching to Basic HTML (below the Inbox) Version as a temporary fix. Some people have success using one or the other of the following URLs to sign-in to the Basic version (it seems sometimes the links to switch versions don't appear):
When I tested it, I had to open a different browser (like Chrome) to get the links to actually enable the Basic Version.
Using the Basic Version isn't a fix, but as a workaround it lets people read their e-mail while we wait for Google to fix the root-cause.

JUST ONE OF MY E-MAILS WILL NOT LOAD EVERYDAY FOR THE LAST 3 DAYS. WHAT CAN I DO? IF I PUT IT IN SAVE DRAFT AFTER I PUSH FORWARD THEN I CAN SEND IT BUT IT STILL SAYS LOADING ON THE TOP AND I CANNOT ACCESS THE EMOTICONS TO USE. I CAN OPEN THEM BUT THEY WILL NOT BE USED.

Hi all. Thx for the discussion. I have same problem when I try to fwd email. It has been 2 days. Switching to basic mode does help, but you're right, it looks pretty plain. Does anyone know how to report this problem to Google ppl ? Thx.
