Will I lose my bookmarks if I unistall Chrome and then reinstall? Hdmhuesu 2/27/10 11:03 AM
I just found out that I need to replace my hard drive. As far as back up I am set. The one thing that I am concerned about is losing my bookmarks. I use bookmarks extensively. Once I replace my hard drive, will they be gone forever? Is there a way to back up bookmarks?

Thanks!

just in case open the bookmark manager > tools > export bookmarks > save them in an easy to find place on your computer. you should this every time you add new bookmarks to save losing them.

Use Bookmark Sync (Wrench menu > Sync my bookmarks). Bookmarks are saved to a Google account and you can retrieve them from any computer if you sign in to the same Google account.

Hey Internet Folk!!

Syncing your Google account is still the best way to keep your bookmarks if you need to uninstall and reinstall Chrome, but the path has changed:

  1. In the top-right corner of the browser window, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu .
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Under "Sign in," click the button Advanced sync settings.
  4. In the drop-down menu, select how much information you want to sync. You have two options:
    • Sync everything: All of the information in the checkboxes will sync.
    • Choose what to sync: Mark the information you want to sync with checkboxes.
Happy interneting :)
