|Why do I get so many pop-ups now that I started using Google Chrome?||sheck123||3/18/09 3:55 PM|
When I was still using Microsoft's Internet Explorer I didn't have this issue, but as soon as we downloaded and installed Google Chrome, I'm getting pop-ups with random ads (sometimes in other languages). Nothing has changed in my Norton Anti-virus software settings, so what could it be?

@sheck123: >I'm getting pop-ups with random ads (sometimes in other languages) >>Are you referring to IE?
Anyway, Google Chrome can block pop-ups but there is no way to change those settings. I also want to point that there are 2 types of pop-up, either good or bad. The bad pop-ups are the one who pop during page load; While the good ones can be triggered by you, when you forced it to pop. But the only thing is, Chrome is blocking bad pop-ups only that means there are still chances to get good ones (and sometimes ad-oriented). If you're getting pop-ups then this is because you have selected/hover a link that creates pop-ups.
I think it's better to suggest how to change those settings like turning it off, turning it on by either moderate and strict filtering and/or with exceptions. :]
