I've been a very satisfied user of Google Chrome for many months now, and yet the other day, as I go to open the web browser, no page will load and I am left with the error "Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED): Unknown error."  

I tried the few options listed on the site in tweaking the LAN settings to automatic, clearing the cookies, etc. yet to no avail!  I've tried to uninstall and re-install, nothing changes.  I then installed Mozilla Firefox, as well as Internet Explorer 8, and neither of these browsers work either!  The only browser that will function is Internet Explorer 7.  I run Vista and this is the first problem I've encountered.  The only thing I can think that may have change recently is I had Norton Internet Security running and then it expired and doesn't run on my computer anymore, but in checking all my Windows Firewall settings, Google Chrome is allowed in all of them.

Please, if someone can help, I want Chrome back!
