|Not syncing extensions, plugins, apps, theme||bluazul||12/27/10 11:11 AM|
Google Chrome version: 8.0.552.224 Operating System: Windows XP
Please describe your question/comment in detail (for example, steps to reproduce the problem):
I have Chrome installed on my MacBook, my Cr-48 (Chrome OS), and my work Windows XP machine with sync setup across all of them. The MacBook and Cr-48 sync everything fine. However, the Windows computer will only sync the bookmarks and nothing else. Uninstalling and reinstalling did not work. I've tried disabling and re-enabling sync. That got me the Evernote extension, but that's it.

As an update, the Windows browser is slowly updating. Yesterday, it added a couple of extensions. Today it updated the theme. Still no apps. I installed an app on the Windows browser yesterday, and when I turned on my Cr-48 last night, the app was automatically installed. So it seems like it is syncing, but VERY slowly. Any thoughts on how to speed it up?

ok, I own a cr-48 too. I would check the internet connection and make sure you updated chrome browser on your windows pc. (When in doubt, unlink and relink sync on the pc)

The problem isn't with the Cr-48; it updates fine. As I said in the first post, I even uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome on the PC (and also unlinked and relinked the sync on the PC).

I'm also having trouble syncing. Some types of data sync while others don't. Apps, Bookmarks, and Extensions aren't working for me currently.

Same problem here. I have three Windows 7 machines with sync enabled and not everything is syncing correctly. Apps and extensions are mostly not synced. I will get bookmarks and sometimes theme, but never everything. Could it be from running different versions of the Chrome browser. I'll have to check and see what I'm running on each, but that could be the problem. However, if it is, I can see a lot of people having that issue down the road.

I ended up disabling sync, deleting what was on the Google servers and then enabling one thing at a time. I pay for premium Xmarks so I am currently opting to use its bookmark sync ability but the rest are working fine for me now after doing the "one-at-a-time" method with the other sync data types.

Same here, my laptop has more apps and extensions than the netbook does.. i just deleted all my bookmarks to stop syncing and resync hoping that would solve the problem (had 1000 book marks) but that wasn't the issue , they both say they just synced now but i have apps on one that are not on the other and vice versa and no help from google, as they develop something in the beginning and never follow through fixing, updating, improving a new invention.. leaves users hanging, I am getting tired of this..
was going to purchase 1000 chromebooks today but this issue stopped us as we wanted to sync businesss models..

I am having a similar problem. I have chrome installed on my laptop (Windows 7) and on my desktop (Windows XP) and I also have chrome portable on my usb. Everything seems to work just fine between my laptop & portable, but the desktop never seems to sync just right.
