Chrome was working fine earlier in the day but now half the pages I try to access get this error message and the pages no longer load.

Some of the pages affected are

yahoo mail
yahoo groups
photobucket
devian art

I'm having to keep going back to Firefox to check my e-mail and when I come across a page that won't load in Chrome.

I am experiencing this on a Wireless and a Wired connection.
Another Wired connection works fine.

Happens in IE7, GC, Safari and FF3.

Systems: VistaUltimate32bit and WXP-SP3.

Tried changing the Norton Firewall allow settings for GC and IE7, but does not resolve the issue.

Thanks

Please, always include the version of Chrome in bug reports. (Click on the spanner icon on the top-right and select "About Google Chrome")
Re: What is 'Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found' orasca 2/25/09 10:46 PM
Go to :
Options->Under the Hood->Change proxy settings->LAN Settings -> Automatic Configuration -> Automatically detect settings = ON

Close GC
Restart

It should load the page(s) as expected.

Resolved on WXP-SP3 not running GC.

Turn OFF Windows Firewall. Last MS Update must have turned it ON.

Ok i am having this problem full stop on all three browsers, i have chrome 4.0.249.89, IE8, firefox. I am using a wifi connection which is good, and i can load a few programs like gmail and yahoo, and google search but anything else i can not, things like forum pages basically all links i click on. I turned off computer taken battery out, turned off my antivirus as well as firewall. I could not afford to replace me apple when it was stollen so i have a new windows computer! i really miss my apple it just works.
Any advice on this would be appreciated. The browsers were loading fine yesterday, i have downloaded some new programs but all checked for viruses and all from trusted sources, e.g windows, google, firefox.
Thanks

I'm getting this error where gadgets are supposed to be on google sites.
I have 3 PCs, with XP, Vista and Windows 7, and only the PC with XP works ok. However, if I use the Vista or Win7 PC on another broadband connection it works fine, this is the same across browsers so I'm guessing its something to do with my connection to the internet on those 2 PCs but I'm at a loss to what it is, very annoying!

Edit  I have found the simple way to fix this  'Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found' is to re-enter the addresses of your saved tabs. This should be done via a search engine and not using the original address these should be deleted from the "on start up" menu in options . I think the bits after the .com are causing the problem. Hope this is of help.

This may sound super obvious, but I was stuck with this problem for a while. Turned out it was the firewall. Just reset the defaults and got the option to allow chrome to access the internet when it was restarted.
Re: What is 'Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found' jimmy1020 4/5/10 1:30 PM
All I need to do to fix it was to add the program "google chrome" in the windows firewall exceptions. ensure that it is checked off and that the "don't allow exceptions" is not checked off...Damn windows Firewall always messing something up.

this week I've been going nuts because of this error. It would be nice to have a fix option. So far I'm not thrilled with the Google Chrome Experience and IE was even worse, thank goodness I have firefox or else I'd be up a creek. Chrome worked well for 3 months now it won't open anything!
Re: What is 'Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found' toph168 4/21/10 11:35 PM
me too, I've been getting this error from recent updates of Chrome Dev. the links work in other browsers. Even if there is an obvious connection to the internet, Chrome just completely gives up. Sometimes you have to open a new tab to connect to the same website. It's getting tedious and frustrating.
Re: What is 'Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found' M9TTL 4/29/10 9:25 PM
I also have the same problem (kind of). Absolutely ridiculous. I will explain as much as I can and hopefully someone can figure out the problem.

I have tried stated options such as changing security software, deleting cookies, checking proxy settings and testing other browsers and Windows firewall (it is currently off with chrome and other browsers set to be allowed). None seem to fully solve the problem.

Connecting to sites is near impossible on all browers inc. IE, Chrome, Firefox and Safari. With sites sometimes appearing, but not as they should (no graphics and layout is distorted) and if I manage to get to the page im looking for its a miracle!

Im running Windows 7 on a Sony Vaio VGN-NW20ZF and as I said, iv tried all browsers that are the lastest versions. But all have the exact same problem. (not connecting/error 105)

I was running Kaspersky Security 2010, though un-installed it to see whether that was the problem, it wasn't; same problem with windows security turned on and off, also now with Zonealarm with all browsers set to 'allow'.

At Home I have a BT Home Hub 2.0, at work I believe they have Netgear Routers. Both have the same issue on ALL browsers.

However, my old laptop that runs Vista with all the same programs with Kaspersky 2010 and works fine on any network.

The only network I manage to connect to (only via WIFI) with no problems what so ever is my University network. Both on campus and Halls of residence which is the same network but different location (if that makes a difference to the type of network and its setup!?)

Im here on my Vaio, using Chrome, absolutely perfect.
Though when connected via Ethernet cable to the same University Network, Firefox works but Chrome doesn't.

Also when connecting another router to my Uni network e.g Sky Netgear router (the black one you get free) via Ethernet cable to a ethernet port in my room, it doesnt work; it gives no WIFI connection. (maybe due to the type of network!?)

The only time ALL browsers including Chrome work as they should is via WIFI on my University Network.
The routers that are used throughout the network are Cisco Modular Unified Access Points, such as these:

http://www.cdwg.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=1270327&cm_mmc=K12Ed-_-Microsite-_-the21stcenturyclassroom-_-1270327

Whether this makes a difference I don't know, just know its the only set up that fully works.

Hopefully this will help someone with better technical know how.....

I suspect uTorrent could be the cause of this problem.

Use Task Manager>Process> to find if uTorrent is running.

End the process and try loading the page again.
Re: What is 'Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found' Cirilo 5/4/10 4:48 PM
My problem started just recently.  Running Win 7, Zone Alarm on my Wireless connection, I get 'Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found'  but, when I connect an Ethernet cable to the laptop, no problem with any of the browsers (Chrome, IE8).  I tend to think that the culprit is the Zone Alarm application, but I am not able to find where it's the fix. Any help is highly appreciated.

This might be a stupid suggestion but...

I only started having the 'error 105' problem 2 weeks after installing the 'ikea kitchen planner 2010' program. Couldn't access the internet for more than a few minutes at a time with any web browser. Couldn't use restore points. Deleted the kitchen planner and fingers crossed, all good.

I don't have Ikea kitchen planner on my computer.  I even removed the wireless card drivers from the computer and reinstalled new ones. The problem still there.... I am about to start a complete system recovery which mean that everything will be erased from the system.  I tell you, I never, ever again will buy a HP laptop system, also thinking going back to XP pro..

Chrome Version : 6.0.401.1 dev

Getting the problem here too, Firefox + IE8 work fine, doesn't happen on all sites, and neither is it constistant across a site when it happens (i.e can't load flickr atm in chrome, but works fine in others, but I bet in 10 mins i'll try again and flickr will work in chrome).

My proxy settings are fine, and windows firewall is off

It's disgusting how Google are treating this urgent matter with such contempt.

Google, the CHROME browser is not working. It has not worked for over a month and our company have started to advise customers to remove the browser. What is going on in Google? There I was thinking Microsoft was bad. It's shocking that there is no genuine fix. Thank God for Mozilla Firefox!

We have followed all the suggestions and so far the problem remains. "Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found."

Switching to Google's DNS servers (instead of the ones provided by my ISP Bharti Airtel) worked for me - 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
I made the change in my DI-524 wireless router. http://www.infoq.com/news/2009/12/Public-DNS-Google

This is indeed a DNS issue. I am not sure yet why the pages are blocked through other private DNS servers. I am still researching it and I will post more later. In the mean time as 'rohitpathak' stated above: switching to Google's public DNS servers resolves the issue. check out link one in this reply to learn more. If you are feeling very adventurous check out link two to learn more about Public DNS servers in general. hope this helps. Thanks 'rohitpathak' and others for the tip and good luck!

Re: What is 'Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found' rohitpathak 6/10/10 6:42 AM
Some more points:
* Using Automatically detect settings = ON is probably not recommended. It creates other issues like "Resolving proxy..." delay
* The reason this error disappears/reappears randomly over time is probably because the load on DNS servers varies.
* I noticed that many users wrongly blamed their wireless routers (esp DI-524) for this issue, on many wireless/broadband forums. So Peace Chrome and Peace DLink!

This is a DNS issue

Access your routers admin page
change the DNS servers to the following OpenDNS IP Address – Primary - 208.67.222.222 Secondary - 208.67.220.220
Enjoy!
Re: What is 'Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found' LightBeing 7/5/10 9:40 PM
This problem is caused due to remote Port 53 being blocked or denied on the local machine.  Port 53 grants access to remote DNS.  If you are using a firewall, simply unblock or grant access to Port 53.

Here is one solution. Open networks connection in Controlpanel. Choose the active network.  Choose ip settings. Look if your default dns values have been deleted. Re-write the correct dns values and activate the network. SHould work.

This is unbelievable.  I have a WIFI (WIPET) connection, so after doing several networking tests, I found  out that my Internet Service Provider (ISP) was causing the DNS problem.  Apparently, they needed to authorize my D-Link Router to be able to navigate pass their DNS/Gateway.  I asked them why they were doing this, since no other provider in the area was doing it, no answer was given.  My problem is that, I still need to continue with this company because, they are the only one that provide WIFI services in my area.  Anyway, I am planning to change to a Linksys (CISCO) in the near future, so I have to contact them for access to my new router. What a bunch of craps….

I had this problem with some but not all websites and I've now solved it. Some sites would not load at all and others would only half load with no images and the text all over the place. Same problem with Internet Explorer. I just moved from one wireless connection which worked properly to this one now which had problems. I switched the DNS server address to automatic and it now works fine. To do so, open the 'Network and Sharing Center' (on Windows Vista). Click 'view status' and then 'properties', 'IP version 4' and 'properties' again. Then check 'obtain DNS server address automatically'. Hope this helps.

Wait half our or so, then reboot. Hope it helps! P.S. I tried without pulling the cord, and it did not work, you must completely remove all power from your pc.

Re: What is 'Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found' TnavB 10/16/10 5:33 AM
In case you're wondering "but I use Google DNS / openDNS and I still got this error", that may be the actual problem. If you're trying (like I was) to access an internal page in your network (e.g. your personal account for your ISP) you will probably be required to be using your default DNS server for your ISP. So just go back to your original DNS server to access the internal website and then change it back if you want.

Thanks everyone who mentioned this was a DNS issue, the solution was the opposite one but the problem was the same.

Re: What is 'Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found' eelton 10/24/10 5:25 PM
I found a solution for my issue.  I hope this helps someone.  It's been annoying me forever.

I keep 30 or so tabs open.  If I reload them all, Chrome fails to load 80% of them, and I have to reload the misbehaving tabs one-by-one.  I've been using Opera, which fails on maybe 20%--better, but still frustrating.

As others have said, it's a DNS issue.  What solved this for me was something opposite to john.condon's suggestion.  I had tried changing the DNS settings on my router--to automatic, my ISP's DNS server, Google's server, and OpenDNS's server--but nothing worked.  My computer's DNS was already set to auto, as john.condon recommended in his post, so I decided to try specifying a DNS server on the computer rather than the router (I used Google's).  Bingo, for the first time in years, everything loads correctly, and much faster.  Maybe the issue was my router not relaying the DNS requests properly.

I was struggling with this same error on new HP Laptop running Win 7, Google Chrome 7.0.517.41
Fix was quite simple - needed to turn off proxy server, follow instructions below:

Go to :
Options-> Under the Hood-> Change proxy settings-> LAN Settings-> Automatic Configuration->
Use a proxy server for your LAN (These settings will not apply to dial-up or VPN connections) = OFF (unchecked)

Reload this page

It should load the page(s) as expected. Good luck!

I am having the same problem.  Sometimes I can stay connected to the internet for a few hours, but other times, like today, I'm getting the Error 105 every few minutes.  The only thing that I can do to get back in the internet is to unplug my wireless router, let it reconnect to the network again, and then unplug it again - it is only after the second time I've unplugged it and let it reconnect that I get internet connectivity again.  I've gone through all the fixes mentioned in the forum above, but none of them have worked.  Google Chrome is allowed on my Norton 360 firewall, my Windows Firewall is Off.  I've checked and unchecked all the suggested boxes in Under the Bonnet.  Please can someone give a solution that actually works?!  Thanks.

I am using Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. I have had this ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED problem since the very beginning of windows 7. If I boot or resume the laptop from suspend, Chrome fails to resolve any websites for the first 1-2 minutes. Firefox and IE always work.

Most of the solutions offered here did not help me.

- DNS Pre-fetch setting: Disabling/enabling did not change anything

- Auto-detect proxy: I don't use a proxy server address, so it shouldn't matter (But I tried anyway and it didn't help).

Finally I got chrome to work last week by enabling the windows service "DNS Client". Haven't had DNS lookup issues since then.
Changing DNS server to OpenDNS or Google DNS is too drastic for me, I am happy with my ISP's DNS.

If you have already exhausted all other solutions, try this too.

Hello
I was acceessing internet in my laptop using Nokia PC Suite.
It was working fine earlier after that I installed updated version of Nokia PC Suite from the Nokia website.
I started getting Err 105 just after installing new version.
I was able to access internet without any problem using PC Suite with one Service Provider but when I was trying to access internet with other Service provider, I was getting Err 105.(Note: I was using latest version of Nokia PC Suite)
So I thought it is the problem with the Service Provider's setting..
But I asked the Service provider to send the settings again. I saved the settings but again I was getting Err 105.
So I used Public DNS as mentioned in one of the suggestion but the problem still persisted.
Finally I uninstalled Google Chrome.
Still I was getting Err 105 with one service provider but I was able to access all web sites using other service provider.
So I executed netsh commads as mentioned in one suggestion but that also didn't work.
Finally I uninstalled the latest version of Nokia PC Suite and installed old version.
Now I am able to access internet with both the Service Providers.
So in my case, I guess the problem was with the latest PC Suite.

But my question is if the problem was with latest Nokia PC Suite, then I should not be able to access internet using both the Service providers.

Can anyone tell me what was the exact problem ???

I've been getting Error 105 a lot more often recently on the Linux Dev Channel. Seems to happen on websites I constantly visit. This solution fixed it for me:

Re: What is 'Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found' marcus24 1/3/11 1:14 PM
I've been experiencing the same problem with a lot of "this website is temporarily unavailable" errors thrown in. I'm using a company laptop at home and that has Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) installed on it -- Windows firewall is disabled. I noticed that SEP would indicate a denial of service attack originating from my router's IP address. I checked out the security log through the SEP client interface and, sure enough, SEP was taking action against this perceived denial of service attack by blocking all IP traffic coming from my router, 15 minutes at a time -- which would explain why this problem seems to come and go. So I went into the network protection settings and unchecked the option that tells SEP to try to detect denial of service attacks -- pretty unlikely that anyone is going to try to deny service to my laptop. Once I did that, all the Error 105 and "temporarily unavailable" errors stopped and all my web browsing started working with great response/load times. I did some more experimenting with the denial of service attack option turned on and off, and it seems like SEP is reacting to a flurry of browsing activity -- I tend to open or refresh a whole mess of tabs at the same time for websites that I like to check for updates regularly.

It may be that other Norton/Symantec or other security programs may be doing the same thing -- try disabling any denail of service attack detection on whatever security software you're using and see if that works for you.

Error 105, I had this problem as well, where it would say webpage not available, most websites would not load correctly, no matter which browser i would use, i SOLVED this problem myself by re-setting the internet connection, it may seem simple but it worked for me and the two laptops,

I'm running on windows 7 64 bit. This worked for me. I uninstalled my network adapter in Device Manager and reinstalled it.

Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager > Network Adapters (Find your wireless adapter here), Right click on it and click uninstall. Then reinstall it back using ethernet cable or whatever you did when you first installed it.

Hope this helps =)

Thanks to whoever suggested resetting the internet connection. I did that, and once it went through all the flashing lights and initializing phases, I restarted my browsers, and they started working. I'd been having this problem on all three browsers: IE, Firefox, and GC. What a simple fix. I feel like a dummy for not thinking of it myself.

Re: What is 'Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found' Librez 2/28/11 11:00 PM
I did these steps before I updated the Chrome.
1) Start menu > All Programs > Accessories.
2) Right Click on Command Prompt.
3) Choose Run as Administrator.
4) cd\ (hit enter)
5) ipconfig /flushdns (hit enter)
6) ipconfig /registerdns (hit enter)
7) exit (hit enter).

Check the Chrome if there's any update by "Spanner icon > About Google Chrome".

Hope it helps.

Re: What is 'Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found' Cris0rtiz 3/6/11 9:17 AM
I thought that a router reset was needed too. The thing is that it happens when i connect my laptop at work, and they are not going to power cycle the router just to allow me have the internet. So the only way i can access the internet is litterally by refreshing the page each time I have that 105 error until the page respond.

Thank you for the feed back.
Re: What is 'Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found' Nesomimus 3/6/11 12:34 PM
Chrome 9.0.597.107
Windows 7
Plugged directly into wireless DSL.

Same initial problem, no problem with opening pages, etc. I turn on the computer and click on the Chrome icon; default page is www.gmail.com. Often I get Error 105. In my case the reason seems obvious. The URL that is loaded is: https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&rm=false&continue=###http%3A%2F%2F###mail###.google###.com%2Fmail%2F###%3Fui%3Dhtml%26zy%3Dl&bsv=llya694le36z&scc=1&ltmpl=default&ltmplcache=2

[Note: I have added ### before and after the phrases that differ between the two URLs.]

I dump that and try again. Nearly always it loads correctly using a different URL: https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&rm=false&continue=###http://mail###.google.###com/mail/###%3Fui%3Dhtml%26zy%3Dl&bsv=llya694le36z&scc=1&ltmpl=default&ltmplcache=2

So how do I search for and destroy the wrong one? Thanks.

Go to your router address. Try reset your router to factory mode. Clone your MAC address and create the new access point.

That should work.
Re: What is 'Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found' LP89 3/23/11 10:19 PM
The only way I get to reconnect with the DNS server is by doing a System Restore. And you must make sure that your registry keys are working fine, if not you will have to Merge the Old Registry Keys before doing the System Restore. Pick the Restore date from the oldest Windows Critical Update point.

This worked for me, hope it will work for anyone else who tries this method.

Hi i had the same problem as all of you : "Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED)" and i tried many of the options mentioned here(disable firewall, disable antivirus programme, flash the dns etc.) but none of them worked for me.

I just changed the current DNS with the Google's free one 8.8.8.8 and it worked fine. I did this on Mac and Windows machine.

Here are the steps: http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using.html
Re: What is 'Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found' kalyan vikki 7/22/11 12:04 AM
This steps fixed my problem. Hope it may help u too.

1.      Click Start. Type cmd in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
2.      At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
ipconfig /flushdns (there is a space between ipconfig and / )
It will show the message successfully flushed the DNS resolver cache.
3.      At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
ipconfig /registerdns (there is a space between ipconfig and / )
4.      At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
ipconfig /all (there is a space between ipconfig and /)
The ipconfig /all command displays Windows TCP/IP settings for all your network adapters.
If your IP address for your Local Area Connection is either 0.0.0.0 or 169.x.x.x (where x is any number), then your computer is not getting an IP address from the router.
If that is the case, try this:
·         ipconfig /release in the command prompt and press ENTER
·         ipconfig /renew in the command prompt and press ENTER
Test it again by typing ipconfig /all to see what the address is?  (If you are on a home router, it should start with either 192.168.1.x or 192.168.0.x or 10.x.x.x)

I entered in "network connection" and saw there were active two wireless network connections. I desabled the one I wasn't using and it worked just fine!

I don't know why these problem happened but it ocurred after I install a printer software.

Hi all,

I've also been battling w this problem on a clean SP2 XP laptop. Wireless net was working fine, but through the ethernet cable I got the error 105 on both Chrome 13 and IE8. The same ethernet able was giving fine network if pluggd into another machine.

What solved it for me was the solution proposed by girl2010 above (on 5/24/10). I tried several other things (firewall, chrome settings, etc). So +1 on opening CMD and giving it a go.

good luck,
L

To verify the IP configuration migration

Open a Command Prompt window on the destination server. To do this, click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then press Enter.

Verify that all IP configurations that you wanted to migrate exist on the correct network adapters on the destination server. To do this, type the following, , and then press Enter.

Compare the results of the IPConfig -all command with the IPConfig output you generated on the source server in the procedure “To export IP configuration settings from the source server” in IP Configuration: Migrating IP Configuration Data.

For static IP address migration, verify that you can access the destination server by using the same IP address as the source server had before the migration. You can verify this by using the ping command in a Windows Command Prompt session.

Rolling back migration

If necessary, perform the following steps to roll back IP configuration migration.
To roll back migration

If you obtained a different static IP address for your source server, and migrated the statically-configured IP address to the destination server, either disconnect the destination server from the network or obtain a new static IP address for the destination server.

Set the IP address of the source server back to the pre-migration static IP address.

Connect the source server back to the network if you disconnected it in step 1.

Troubleshooting cmdlet-based migration

The Windows Server Migration Tools deployment log file is located at %windir%\Logs\SmigDeploy.log. Additional Windows Server Migration Tools log files are created at the following locations.

    %windir%\Logs\ServerMigration.log

On Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2: %localappdata%\SvrMig\Log

    On Windows Server 2003: %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\SvrMig\Log

If migration log files cannot be created in the preceding locations, ServerMigration.log and SmigDeploy.log are created in %temp%, and other logs are created in %windir%\System32.

If a migration cmdlet fails, and the Windows PowerShell session closes unexpectedly with an access violation error message, look for a message similar to the following example in the %localappdata%\SvrMig\Logs\setuperr.log file.

FatalError [0x090001] PANTHR Exception (code 0xC0000005: ACCESS_VIOLATION) occurred at 0x000007FEEDE9E050 in C:\Windows\system32\migwiz\unbcl.dll (+000000000008E050).  Minidump attached (317793 bytes).

This failure occurs when the server cannot contact domain controllers that are associated with domain users or groups who are members of local groups, or who have rights to files or shares that are being migrated. When this happens, each domain user or group is displayed in the GUI as an unresolved security identifier (SID). An example of a SID is S-1-5-21-1579938362-1064596589-3161144252-1006.

To prevent this problem, verify that required domain controllers or global catalog servers are running, and that network connectivity allows communication between both source and destination servers and required domain controllers or global catalog servers.  Then, run the cmdlets again.
If connections between either the source or destination servers and the domain controllers or global catalog servers cannot be restored, do the following.

Before you run Export-SmigServerSetting, Import-SmigServerSetting or Get-SmigServerFeature again, remove all unresolved domain users or groups who are members of local groups from the server on which you are running the cmdlet.

Before you run Send-SmigServerData or Receive-SmigServerData again, remove all unresolved domain users or groups who have user rights to files, folders, or shares on the migration source server.

Viewing the content of Windows Server Migration Tools result objects

All Windows Server Migration Tools cmdlets return results as objects. You can save result objects and query them for more information about settings and data that were migrated. You can also use result objects as input for other Windows PowerShell commands and scripts.
Result object descriptions

The Windows Server Migration Tools Import-SmigServerSetting and Export-SmigServerSetting cmdlets return results in a list of MigrationResult objects. Each MigrationResult object contains information about the data or setting that the cmdlet processes, the result of the operation, and any related error or warning messages. The following table describes the properties of a MigrationResult object.

Fixing DNS ERROR 105 in three steps.
1)Change Wireless adapter settings from network connections, go to  properties>internet protocol version 4>again properties> change to use following dns server.preferred dns to 208.67.222.222 and alternate dns as 208.67.222.220 and click validate setting on exit and ok.

2) if you are using windows7, disableMS WINDOWS VIRTUAL WIFI MINI PORT bu running  below 2 commands in" RUN" (windows key+r) shortcut. one after another.
 1)   netsh wlan stop hostednetwork
  2)  netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=disallow
and after running above commands close RUN and go to  network connections and DISABLE Microsoft virtual wifi miniport by right click and disable.

3)If you are using google chrome go to OPTIONS> UNDER THE BONNET>CHANGE PROXY SETTINGS>CONNECTIONS>LAN AREA SETTINGS> Tick use a proxy server for lan and clock ok.
(if you are using some other browsers, check for similar option and change settings as above)

additional solutions
a) check for your anti virus firewall to minimum(if it is problem only)
b)reset modem(only for advanced users who can once again set up connection settings)
c)ping to router or a site to know the problem.

hope this helps to some one. bye

I also had the same problem immediately after installing updates for Windows Vista.  The computer showed a connection to the router, but no internet.  None of the fixes here worked for me.  A guy at work finally thought to update the driver for the wireless card.  It had been a couple of years since this was done.  That fixed the problem immediately.  So if nothing else is working, try that.
