Aww Snap! Pages not loaing at all or incorrectly in Chrome-Pls Help! sindee75 7/7/09 5:42 AM
Hello,
I have reported these bugs to Google Chrome a few times over the past several months and never hear anything back. I have reported it under the 'report a bug or broken website' and tried to email them in a contact form.
On the site below, I get a message "Aw snap! Something went wrong displaying this page, try reloading' I reload the page and nothing happens. I have the latest version of Chrome (had uninstalled and reinstalled to see if that would fix my issue).
http://www.selfdefenseproductsflorida.com/
For our other site, the pages load funky, backgrounds missing, text out of place, etc.
http://www.buy-pepper-spray-stun-guns-online.com/
Is this a problem with Chrome not being compatible with Yahoo Sitebuilder? Is there anything we can do?
We will/are losing sales from the folks moving to Chrome. This is not good.
Any suggestions? I guess Google is too busy with Chrome issues to get around to our issue placed months ago?
Thanks for any suggestions....

I tried both of your sites, and they load beautifully.  Your users could have other software that doesn't play well with Chrome.

Thank you. I am glad it loaded fine for you! I wonder how I can tell which app chrome is not playing well with? Is there a common list?

i did not check your sites, but make sure you have the flash player updated

from within chrome to go
http://www.adobe.com/
click the get flash player

chrome will ask you to save it, so do it, and then run it!!!!!and install it (it does not list chrome as supported but it is!)
it will even ask you to close chrome

Thank you Nakro....We do have the latest Flash Player..I just tried uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome again for the heck of it.
Our sites still get the Awww Snap error or does not load right. BUT - I tried some other sites and they worked! Now I am really
stumped!

I have no more to help you...
Re: Aww Snap! Pages not loaing at all or incorrectly in Chrome-Pls Help! nakro 7/7/09 8:42 AM
Sindee, can you please tell me what version of chrome you have (wrench->about)
and what OS, and also what anti malware/shmalware you have installed....

Re: Aww Snap! Pages not loaing at all or incorrectly in Chrome-Pls Help! sindee75 7/7/09 8:50 AM
Nakro, I have Chrome 2.0.172.33 installed and only Malwarebytes and Grisoft AVG Free Antiviral 8.5.
I just don't get it why my sites don't view or not properly, but others do? Wierd...
You said you did not try it. Could you try it for the heck of it and see if it loads okay for you.
If it loads okay for you and everyone else, it has got to be my PC.
I have a VISTA PC with IE8 installed and latest Java...If that helps.... Thanks for trying to help me...
Re: Aww Snap! Pages not loaing at all or incorrectly in Chrome-Pls Help! nakro 7/7/09 8:59 AM
i did try your first link, and it works 100% ok.....

however, i am using a different chrome version (there are 3, dev, beta and the stable, which is what you use)

i do not have malwarebytes,  which might be the difference, i cannot tell

you have 2 options now i guess
or remove malaware,
or intall the dev version

very easy to do

i think dragon uses your version, so i guess the problem is malware or your machine is somehow infected, but i doubt it

Re: Aww Snap! Pages not loaing at all or incorrectly in Chrome-Pls Help! sindee75 7/7/09 9:11 AM
Hi Nakro..I uninstlled Chrome just now and installed the DEV. version as suggested. I now have version 3.0.191.3
I still have the same problem  :-(
I know the PC is not infected. Just last night I ran Malwarebytes and the AVG antiviral, and Windows Defender. PC appears to be
clean of spyware/adware and viruses.
Does Google Chrome staff look at these posts? Or are you and Dragon from Google Chrome Staff?
Thank you again.. Later on, I'll try it on my laptop and let you know what happens..
Re: Aww Snap! Pages not loaing at all or incorrectly in Chrome-Pls Help! †Tommy G.† 7/7/09 9:20 AM
I do use the same version as sindee.  Nakro and I are volunteer contributors, and yes, staff does monitor this forum.  In the end, nakro will probably come through again.  He is very clever.

;)

ok, let's see ......
obviously something is fishy about you machine, or of course you ran across some crazy chrome bug, but i doubt it

let's check things

what version do you get from the link above ? (mine is 10,0,22,87)

also, i would try to see if this site works in incognito mode (there is a strange reason is might)
you enter it with Ctrl+Shift+N

also, what else do you have on your PC ? anything that you added to windows and could be relevant, like theme modifiers, or cursor effects programs

and finally, i would try to un-installal this malaware, as my guess is that maybe it is the one at fault
let us know

(and dragon is wrong, i am really not that clever, just pretty.... it confuses people)

It's good to "see" you again nakro!
Re: Aww Snap! Pages not loaing at all or incorrectly in Chrome-Pls Help! sindee75 7/7/09 10:11 AM
Nakro, I have adobe version 10,0,22,87 installed.
Does NOT work incognito.
I only have the google toolbar installed. No other tools, cursor effects or themes.
I will do the uninstalls later of Malware bytes and AVG and let you know. I have to step out for a bit.
TTYL..
Re: Aww Snap! Pages not loaing at all or incorrectly in Chrome-Pls Help! sindee75 7/7/09 1:56 PM
Nakro,
I installed Chrome on the laptop which is XP, not Vista like the desktop. (The laptop does have the Malwarebytes and AVG).
The home page of http://www.selfdefenseproductsflorida.com loaded good, but the other pages did not. Everything was off. But, it did not get the Aww Snap! black page.

For our other site, http://www.buy-pepper-spray-stun-guns-online.com the pages still load funky, backgrounds missing, text out of place, etc..

Before I reluctantly remove the protection, could you please verify that a few of the other pages look good to you in www.selfdefenseproductsflorida.com ?

I have this funny feeling that it has something to do with Yahoo Sitebuilder and Chrome....
Re: Aww Snap! Pages not loaing at all or incorrectly in Chrome-Pls Help! nakro 7/7/09 2:08 PM
well, the http://www.buy-pepper-spray-stun-guns-online.com seems fishy with chrome, but also with Safari

i would suggest you run it via this site to figure out why

there are many errros, and chrome and safari both adhere to web standards much more strictly than FF or IE do, which is a bad thing in many ways
but this is how it is

anyways, if you fix these errors your sites should render properly on all browsers

Re: Aww Snap! Pages not loaing at all or incorrectly in Chrome-Pls Help! sindee75 7/7/09 2:25 PM
Nakro,
Ive used the W3 validator before and it does come up with many errors because of Yahoo sitebuilder.
I suspected yahoo sitebuilder was the problem, with it and chrome not playing together.
I have written in forums and chromes online form and asked them to make chrome compatible with
yahoo sitebuilder...I never heard back from them. They NEED to know  as there are millions that
build websites with Yahoo Sitebuilder and other sitebuilders for people like us that create our own websites
because we do not know HTML, Java Script and all of that other program coding, and we cannot afford to
pay someone to do it.
You are right, I.E. and Mozilla/Firefox are much more forgiving. Google needs to make Chrome much more forgiving
(readable) with tools such as yahoo sitebuilder..
I can ONLY hope that they will fix this issue, as I do not have money to pay a professional to do it outside of a sitebuilder.

Thank you for trying...I do appreciate it. If you have contact with Googles Chrome support, please pass on this issue.

Thank you again.....
Re: Aww Snap! Pages not loaing at all or incorrectly in Chrome-Pls Help! nakro 7/7/09 2:30 PM
There is not much that i expect to happen even if i brought it up with the devs of chrome
as chrome and safari BOTH(!) use the same rendering engine (the same source code)
so if yahoo will not fix their site builder then you are anyways not accessible to people with Macs
or people who use chrome or Safari (there is a windows version as well)

sorry for that, but since they html code does not pass www3 standards, then there is not much that can be done

And, once again, nakro comes through.  Was I not right?

You are a good guy nakro.

Good luck to you, sindee75!

The whole site works fine for me. But I'm using the dev version 3.0.191.3
Re: Aww Snap! Pages not loaing at all or incorrectly in Chrome-Pls Help! sindee75 7/8/09 5:38 AM
Hi Dwight, thank you so very much for trying. Did you try a few pages on Self Defense Products Florida and ALL was okay?
This is so weird. Nakro and I cannot blame it on Yahoo Sitebuilder if this is true.
What Operating System are you using?
