|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||fhi90||3/25/10 12:43 PM|
Having the same problem. Running Chrome v.184.108.40.2062. Vista SP2.
It seems to only occur when I'm in Gmail although I'm not certain that it only happens there.
Error message: "The following plug-in has crashed: Google Talk Plugin"

Could someone answer
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||ycc||3/26/10 3:45 AM|
Do all of you use Vista?
Maybe telling us your chrome version, OS info AND plugin version would help.
(Type 'about:plugins' in the address bar)
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||RobHofker||3/26/10 6:16 AM|
Same problem here:
Google Talk version 1,0,21,0
Chrome 220.127.116.112 beta (42199)
Any kind of resolution available?
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||Illway||3/31/10 12:20 PM|
Chrome v. 18.104.22.1685 unknown (42898).
Don't know how to get info on the plugin; it just says "Google Talk Plugin".

|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||gjp111||4/9/10 5:58 PM|
I was having the same problem: running WIN7 64. I uninstall ed and reinstalled Chrome v.22.214.171.1245, The problem has not reappeared as of yet. I'm using Google Talk, Labs Edition v.1.0.267.233
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||lchrishi||4/11/10 4:08 AM|
I had the version 1,0,21,0 of the npgoogletalk.dll google voice/video plugin installed and it would crash every time I opened gmail in chrome.
To fix this I went to http://www.google.com/chat/video and downloaded the installer. This updated the plugin version to 126.96.36.199 and it doesnt crash any more.
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||evdurrant||4/26/10 1:37 AM|
Thanks Ichrishi, your solution worked for me running Chrome on vista.
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||John~B||5/3/10 10:38 AM|
ichrishi - I tried your fix, did not resolve my issue.
Chrome: 5.0.342.9 beta

I'm looking for a way to unistall/remove the plugin at this point.
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||superxchloe||5/3/10 10:49 AM|
I'm having the same issue, just started a couple days ago. I don't remember installing anything new, so I have no idea why this is occurring. I'm running Vista, Chrome 188.8.131.524 and Talk Version 184.108.40.206.
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||superxchloe||5/3/10 10:50 AM|
Oh, and this only happens when I open gmail, as that is the only client I use for talk.
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||theuedimaster||5/3/10 8:03 PM|
Ischrishi's fix worked for me.
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||superxchloe||5/3/10 8:09 PM|
I did try that... it didn't work for me.
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||John~B||5/4/10 8:21 AM|
At this point the issue has gone away. I cannot point my finger at anything that I did specifically though. Perhaps ichrishi's fix worked after all.
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||superxchloe||5/4/10 8:30 AM|
It may have been an issue on google's end that they fixed- mine stopped also.
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||wyldraven||5/4/10 9:26 AM|
For me, the issue has become intermittent. It happened last two days ago.
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||minikahuna||5/4/10 8:33 PM|
The issue is still happening for me.
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||federico.giorgi||5/16/10 4:46 AM|
It's a language-related issue I guess. Try downloading the plugin at http://www.google.com/chat/video in the same language of your browser (not the one of your account, which is selected by default on the website).
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||darrenruns||5/25/10 6:30 PM|
I have tried every solution suggested and the Google talk plug-in continues to crash. I have attempted to remove the plug-in but cannot locate it on my system (running Windows Vista 64). I have uninstalled/reinstalled Chrome and on the first launch of Gmail, the plug-in crashed. Can anyone pass along helpful advice?

Type about:plugins into Chrome's address bar. You'll get a list of installed plugins with an option to disable each one.

|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||One Surf||9/12/10 12:27 AM|
By the way, it is really annoying that the yellow crash bar has to be posted an top of every single window and tab, and each of them closed separately.
Dear Google, please fix this. Finally.

|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||SalNbdy||11/11/11 6:15 PM|
If you have Skype add-in try to uninstall that see if that helps.
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||IndioGirl||11/12/11 2:35 PM|
THIS WORKED FOR ME
Get rid of this annoying error by doing the following:
1) Click on the Google Chrome Spanner in the top right hand corner of the screen;
2) Select TOOLS from the drop down menu
3) Select EXTENSIONS from the next drop down menu
You will see a list of installed extensions to Google Chrome
I removed the Skype Click to start a call extension and the problem disappeared
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||skleist29s||12/30/11 3:41 AM|
Just had the same problem. - And I do not have any Skype extensions installed :-(
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||Selectdave||1/21/12 12:10 AM|
Same here, notified Google and all they did is direct me to here. Guess they don't know what to do about it either? Hmmmm....
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||Selectdave||1/21/12 12:18 AM|
I went thru the steps to remove Skype Click to start, BUT, it wasn't there for me to remove ??? Yet, I still keep getting that same problem.... Boing ! Grr! Frick !
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||Selectdave||1/22/12 6:40 PM|
With all this Googlie Gook Talk, where is the explanation to correct the problem? Where is Google in helping us ?
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||Koray Memisoglu||2/2/12 7:53 PM|
I don't know why they are so bad fixing this issue. it has been over months I'm having this issues. I'm seriously considering reinstalling the computer for this. it is really annoying. my google plug crashes and run maybe 30 google plug in in my taskbar. i have to log off sometimes to fix the issue or restart. so annoying. I wish there some email or from that we can complain.
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||Tsahi1||3/5/12 6:19 AM|
I uninstalled the Google Talk plugin using Windows control panel.
The "Crash" error reports stopped, and the chat function is still working.
|Re: Google Talk Plugin Crash||CvdL||5/3/12 10:56 AM|
Thanks Tsahi1 ! Worked for me !
I'm not a pc fundi, but if I understand this correctly, the error happens because:
1. Google chrome already have the google talk plugin automatically installed in chrome
Go to chrome://plugins to see if you have 2 plugins installed.
Hope this helps !
