|Google Chrome won't load my profile||charlottepenelope||4/25/10 4:53 AM|
Please describe your question/comment in detail (for example, steps to reproduce the problem): Sometimes when I open google chrome I get this error message, and the bookmarks on my bookmarks bar only show the little white page icon, not the actual icon for the site. It also doesn't display my most visited pages or my recently closed tabs, however it does display my installed theme. It also doesn't display my history. How can I stop it from doing this?
Google Chrome version (type about:version into the address bar):
Google Chrome 5.0.342.7 (Official Build 42476) beta
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US) AppleWebKit/533.2 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/5.0.342.7 Safari/533.2
Operating System: Ubuntu 9.10 - Karmic

press Ctrl+Alt+Del to open "Task Manager"
go to processes tab
end all "chrome.exe" processes and try again
Just had this problem, this solved it

Err, @maanuz - I'm running Linux. Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't do anything apart from try and shut down my laptop.

I am having the same problem. It happened yesterday so a reloaded extensions, theme, etc; shut down at night &--in the morning--no preferences (corrupt, etc).

I have the exact problem originally described.
: "Your profile could not be opened correctly
Some features may be unavailable. Please check that the profile exists and that you have permission to read and write its contents"After a reinstall (on a new hard drive) of LINUX MINT 9. Using mintbackup of my original set-up that worked fine on the old hard drive.
Another browser works fine. I prefer Chrome (actually is Chromium 5.0).
I posed this same question on the Linus Mint forums. Will post, if I get an answer.

From maanuz's suggestion, if you are using Ubuntu/GNOME then:
open gnome-system-monitor (Alt+F2, then type gnome-system-monitor) Go to processes and kill anything to do with google chrome. I found it wouldn't kill all of them but if you kill the one with parameters next to the name then all the rest will follow.
