I'm having a similar Problem.
Facebook Started Acting Strange Yesterday, but last night and today, It would seem to be down. But If I try to open the page on a Different Browser, It's still there.
What's up with that?
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||wár17 §||9/30/10 9:24 AM|
There are no general problem between Chrome and Facebook.
What have you done to troubleshoot? Clear your browser cache? Reinstall Java and Flash? Disable extensions?
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||david.king||9/30/10 10:45 AM|
There are no known problems using Facebook with Chrome generically.
1. It may be that the Chromium version you're using specifically is causing a problem. Check to see if other browsers or versions of Chrome function properly.
2. Clear your browser cache and cookies (Ref 1),
3. If that doesn't solve the problem:
- Start | Run (or search for run if you're using Vista/7)
- Type 'cmd' (without quotes) and hit enter
- Once the black box appears, enter 'ipconfig /flushdns' (without quotes) and hit enter
- Once that completes, enter 'ipconfig /renew' (without quotes) and hit enter
- Once that completes, close the window and retry.
4. If none of this helps, your computer may have been infected by a virus or malware; consider running a full security scan with reputable, fully updated antivirus software. If all else fails, it may not be the fault of your computer, but rather that Facebook itself is having issues.

i had similar problems with going to the twitter and youtube home pages only. i was able to get to specific artist/video pages but not the actual home pages. i did the empty cache by clicking on reference #1 above and now everything works perfectly. Try it out!
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||kuru242||10/1/10 9:39 AM|
cleared everything in chrome .. still problem exists..
about "ipconfig /flushdns" command .. it will reset my internet connection right?
i dnt think there is problem with flash or java cause all my other browsers r working perfectly ..
now i should try uninstalling chrome ...
btw thank u all guys for helping me ..
i'll let u knw the result
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||kuru242||10/1/10 10:25 AM|
uninstalling and reinstalling the newer beta version solves the problem ... thank u guys.. it seems the above mentioned version was the problem...
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||david.king||10/1/10 11:01 AM|
Chromium (version 7) is the foremost for testing-purposes really, so it's bound to have some bugs and incompatibilities.
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||Zøe||10/1/10 6:59 PM|
I've been having no problem with Chrome and playing farmtown but today ...first it said a bad url ... then it loads the flash screen and that's it. I tried it with firefox .... same thing, I've ran anti-malware spybot and virus programs but no luck.
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||david.king||10/2/10 6:11 AM|
@Zee. Check you have the latest versions of Chrome, Flash and Java?
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||Zøe||10/2/10 4:21 PM|
Yes. I had them all running. I worked in IT/web design for a long time but I have stumped even myself!
I stupidly deleted CHROME as I had 3 folders for it. Re-installing didn't help (either new or the ones I installed)
BUT it is NOT CHROME. As the stupid facebook farmtown game is doing the same thing with firefox. It will not
'"load user". Like when you're trying to start your car and the starter just won't catch?
I un-installed flash manually, cleaned it out re-installed.
I can get in facebook but not farmtown and everything is running s l o w.
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||wár17 §||10/2/10 4:29 PM|
If you try another user account in Windows, will the website load?
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||Zøe||10/2/10 4:54 PM|
This is kind of funny, though, in a Murphy's Law context. I really AM a farmer and not being able to get into Farm Town (ah! Snap!) gave me the time and energy to harvest my grapes.
I got a new message, just now, I sent an email and the whole system crashed:
I took a screen shot of it but no uploads in this forum.
NView desktop manager has detected that the application ue32 is not responding. When an unresponsive application is managed by NView DeskTop Manager software, other applications can also become unresponsive. Do you want to disable NView DeskTop Manager for this application?
Ah snap! nView isn't coming up when I R-click the screen.
Also my typing in this relpy box is becoming delayed.
I don't know what/where it is in the task manager.
Could this be the problem?
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||Zøe||10/2/10 7:39 PM|
Nope. Didn't work.
Yes I did try both the admin and guest accounts.
It's not a chrome problem ... I don't think. It's when I removed then reinstalled Chrome ...
.... something got out of whack.
And as IF! (.ha.ha.) Facebook/Farm town would help. ha. ha. ha.
Thank you for letting me throw off ideas .... I feel so alone and stupid.

|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||sonidojardin||7/30/11 8:34 AM|
I have problems with FB using Chrome. It works perfectly in Firefox.
I've tried everything, but nothing helps.
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||wár17 §||7/30/11 8:57 AM|
sonidojardin, what kind of problem are you having with FB?
Check the Flash player:
1. Type about:plugins into address bar to go to Plugins page.
Click on Details link on the right.
Disable 10.3 or 10.1, whichever one allows your webpage to work.
2. If no joy, uninstall Flash player in Windows
Open up the Plugins page. Click Disable under Flash player to disable both players.
Then reinstall Flash player from Adobe website
Then re-enable Flash Players in Chrome Plugins page.

Thanks @wár17 § for your troubleshooting! Have those tips worked for you @sonidojardin?
Also, I have a few additional troubleshooting tips for you.
1. Open Facebook in an Incognito window; what happens?
2. What do you see when you go to chrome://extensions/?
3. What version of Chrome are you using? (to find this, go to wrench>About Chrome)
4. What is your operating system?
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||sonidojardin||8/1/11 4:42 PM|
Thanks to you both!
They didn't work. When I follow suggestion 1, nothing happens.
2: Only three extensions: DivX HiQ; DivX Plus Web Player HTML5 <video>, and Speed Dial.
3: V. 12.0.742.122
4. Windows 7.
Thanks again @wár17 § and @JackyH
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||JackyH||8/1/11 5:50 PM|
Could you give a bit more of a detailed explanation of what happens your problems? Are you having problems with notifications? Logging into the site? Your feed showing up? Slow loading?

Seems like this is related to the discussion at reference 1.
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||krenkrel||10/2/11 8:18 AM|
what if i'm using a mac? do you guys have any idea how to solve this issue?
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||handsomeorlandoman||10/2/11 10:26 AM|
We got a few workarounds, such as visiting https://www.facebook.com instead, clearing cache upon every visit, or using Facebook in incognito mode. Also make sure you are on the latest version of Google Chrome (Chrome > About Google Chrome)
Hope this helps!
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||jzucker||1/25/12 2:37 PM|
i had similar problems. Running facebook in an ie tab solves the problem. Looks like either facebook or chrome ain't following the specs.
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||AbilityPLUS||1/25/12 8:31 PM|
I have bee having this problem on and off for months: the Facebook like box plugin works in every other browser. But it rarely works in CHrome, and leaves my website with a huge blank area. I've seen many forums and posts that either FB or Google Chrome claim to have fixed the bug, but it seems to be ok for a few days, and then back to not working....wish they'd fix it!
|Re: Facebook doesn't work on google chrome||wár17 §||1/25/12 8:38 PM|
The Facebook Like problem is likely a cache issue. Clear the cache and cookies files. Restart Facebook.
