Chrome and Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit - BUG!? TheEnzo 10/27/09 3:18 AM
I have been using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit version - the proper release version. I believe this is a bug, but not sure if it's Chrome or Win7 issue.
When I am using Chrome and it minimises to whatever MS are calling the task bar, it sometimes REFUSES to come back! It's still running, but even using ALT-TAB, the window shows as blank and immediately minimises again to the taskbar! This is REALLY irritating and I have to close Chrome and restart it. I am using the latest version of  Chrome (3.0.195.27) but it's the only program on 7 that seems to do this that I have noticed. I REALLY don't want to go back to IE!!! HELP!!!! Has this happened to anyone else?

i have the same problem, im using windows 7 ultimate 64 bits.
sometimes it freezes my pc and my taskbar, even ctrl + alt + del wont work, i have to logoff or restart.
i also dont know what is happening, even formated my pc, but it is still happening.
i was using the same version as you, then tried version 4 beta, it happened but not as often.
anyway, im back to firefox until it's 100% fixed.

Mine wasn't as bad as that, it just got stuck minimised - you could tab to the task but it did nothing. I have tried compatibility mode, but that didn't help. I did see a "fix" for the 64 bit Win 7 beta to run Chrome, but not sure if it'd resolve THIS issue, might give it a go....

Using Windows 7 build 7100, 64 bit since release and various iterations of Chrome no problem.
Installed Windows 7 Prof, build 7600 (RTM) - Nothing but very frequent crashes for both Chrome 3 and 4 (all clean installs, i.e. wiped user data)

PS: Reminded me of the stability of Netscape Communicator 4.04 ;)

My problem is the same as Vecaly. I have had to return to Firefox till this is resolved. I am using Win 7 home premium 64 bit. This is a new laptop and fresh install. I installed the latest chrome version 3. There were alot of crashes associated with chrome, I don't believe I ever got the minimise issue but not sure. My main problem was that often chrome would freeze my mouse/mousepad and alt+tab would work but the mouse (synaptics latest drivers) would be frozen. Pressing Ctrl Alt Del provided a non functioning task manager so I could not close the chrome process forcibly. The only way around this would be to press ctrl alt del and request restart of machine, which it duely did with no problem. I also noticed that if I ever used the scrolling region on my mousepad under chrome it would crash the mouse and the above problems would occur. IT only occurs with chrome and not with any other programs or other browsers like firefox and ie. Issue 19615 only seems to cover the minimising issue and not this other problem unless they are related.
