|RealPlayer plug-in does not work. It says that it is out of date, and there is no new one to download.||Syltique||2/19/11 3:17 PM|
Google Chrome version (type about:version into the address bar):Operating System:Error Message:Extensions installed:
Please describe your question/comment in detail (for example, steps to reproduce the problem):
When I open a webpage with a streaming news broadcast, the message appears at the top that says that the realplayer plug-in has been blocked because it is out of date. There is a link to download the new plug in next to this message, but when I click it, there is nothing there.
When I checked about:plugins I see that the Realplayer plug-in is the only one listed in red, and there's a link that says download critical security update. When I click that link, there is nothing there like the first link.
Where can I get the updated plug-in for RealPlayer?

Same problem here. The link is to a non-existent RealPlayer page

Does not work for me either. Keep getting the same notice and no way to fix it.

And for me... and presumably every other Chrome user?

I'm getting the error too but I think it is just for people using a beta version of Chrome. But I have an an option that says "Run this time". I presume this uses the existing "outdated" version.

I had the same problem and fixed it in the following way.
Go to the RealPlayer Application.
Go to Tools -> Check for Update and update the application (be sure to install all recommended plugins)
After the update, restart both RealPlayer and Chrome and voila' it should be working.

Hey, will you stop posting http://real.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8883/kw/google%20chrome/p/9%2C15 already??!! That has ZIPPO to do with what we're talking about. We're not talking about the frigging downloader. We're talking about the frigging plug-in.

i tried calling several different google offices in the US and finally got hold of a live person who said that google does not offer support for chrome.so i guess we will just have to wait.

I had the same problem and fixed it in the following way.check for updates - update to the latest version
after installation is complete
go back into check for updates > in the plugins section:
select all (or if you know what you are looking for select the specific plugin)
After the update, restart both RealPlayer and Chrome and voila' it should be working.Kevin49826 had the best answer.

Just FYI, the link to update to the latest version of Real Player in Chrome's message bar was fixed back in late April, so this should be resolved.
