|Can't play flash games in FB & other pages not loading||selenamkinouye||3/7/10 7:30 PM|
I just started having a problem with Chrome last night.
1) Chrome won't load my Blogspot hosted blog: www.ohmyachesandpains.info. This is the error message I get:
This webpage is not available.
The webpage at http://www.ohmyachesandpains.info/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
More information on this error
Below is the original error message
Error 2 (net::ERR_FAILED): Unknown error.
2) Chrome is loading www.ebay.com and www.twitiq.com with broken images.
3) I can not longer play Adobe Flash games in FB.
All these errors get resolved when I switch to incognito.
Windows XP SP 3
Chrome 184.108.40.206 (38071)
Bubble Translate - Version: 1.2
Chromey Calculator - Version: 3.0 (Disabled)
Docs PDF/PowerPoint Viewer (by Google) - Version: 1.5.4
Email this page (by Google) - Version: 1.2.5
Facebook Fixer - Version: 1.0

TooManyTabs for Chrome - Version: 1.4.4

Last thing I did before the problem was install Norton Internet Security (NIS) 2010 and Norton Utilities 14.
So far, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome and NIS 2010 which didn't work.

Google chrome has been acting up on facebook ever since they started messing with it.I cant send gifts on apps& can't bank money from certain apps.Friends don't show up when trying to send gifts.Nothing happens when I click on links to send gifts, bank or just do stuff on most apps.Messages dont show up in the facebook inbox .I thought it was my cursor but I tried FireFox and it worked fine. The problem with Firefox is that it is SLOW,I can't have more than one tab/window open,it freezes up too much ..it's nerve racking.I don't think it's anything on my end as I always clear cookies/data.Any ideas?:)
The apps affected are Farmville.Mobsters,Vampire Wars,Treasure Island,SuperHeroCity,FarmTown & a few others Ive noticed issues with in the last few weeks..

Make sure that "Allow third party content" is checked in the Flash Player Global Settings. If it is not, you will not be able to play games that are only partially hosted by the Website you are on. I found this by accident, but it worked! All of the games I couldn't play are now playable. Take care!

I cannot see flash items on even Adobe Flash Player's site - this should be pretty embarassing for chrome and flash. The settings panels do not even appear on screen! How can I do anything to fix it?
When I open facebook games, the game area goes completely black. Little videos on TSN.ca are black once I press play. I run Windows 7 and firefox does not have these issues. I installed chrome last week and had no issues at first, but this week is terrible.

try following this see if it fixes it, looks like an error with the built in flash with chrome will get updated at some point and you can enable it again - disabling it will force chrome to use the same flash file other browsers use
Type "about:plugins" in your address bar, and you should be able to see an entry for "Flash". Mine listed two files. When I expanded out the entry by clicking the 'Details' link in the upper right of the page, I saw that my two flash files were located at:
C:\Users\jamesomeara\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\14.0.794.0\gcswf32.dll - (the one bundled with Chrome, obviously)
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32.dll - (the one installed for system-wide usage)
By disabling the plugin bundled with Chrome and testing out previously-affected pages/sites, I can confirm that Flash works on my PC.

I tried what Biiim suggested, but had no joy. However, when I tried disabling the windows plugin (rather than the one bundled) my browser now works OK!
Other stuff appears to be OK also.
