|Playing mp3 files from embedded code||Chuck Evahs||5/5/10 3:55 PM|
I have a web site with a section that plays music from mg3 files. It works fine from IE8. I have install Chrome on a windows 7 box and a windows XP box. When I tried to run the music web pages from Chrome on the window 7 box I was prompted to install an add-in. After installing it the music played fine. On the XP box I have not been prompted to install anything and it does not play the music. How do I determine what the XP box needs and get it installed?

What addin did you install in Windows 7? Can you install the same addin in Windows XP, even if not prompted to do so?

That's the problem. I can't figure out what I installed. It was something from java as I recall but their web site is almost as bad a Microsoft. Is there a way to tell what was installed in Chrome?

You can look at your plugins by typing in the address bar

Thanks. That helped. Before install from the reference link the media player tool was grayed out. Now its active but still doesn't play. Looks like it can't find the m3u file. I'll keep working on it. Thanks again
