How does one import bookmarks into Google Chrome from either an .html file or IE ?
In Chrome, I used the 'Import Bookmarks' option. But it lets me import a file which is only in Firefox document type.
I have a bookmarks file saved in .html type. How does one import such a file in Chrome ?

Chrome, like all the browsers I use, can use the .html-file
go to chrome://bookmarks and then Organize -> import

It does let me import .html files. Even then Organize -> Import is not listing down the desired file which I have saved as .html file.

Right now, I can select text/html so I think it includes the .html,
if you've exported from IE, you must be sure IE made it an .html, renaming doesn't help (even on save).

Thanks. Yes, I had exported from IE. That file was by default getting saved with .htm and not .html extension. May be that is why the import option from Chrome was not letting me import this file.
Later, when I saved the exported file with .html extension, importing from Chrome did work.
Secondly, though the importing does not seem to be happening successfully. I had exported the favorites of IE into the .html file. But after importing, there is a folder by name 'Imported' created in Chrome.
This imported folder just contains a sub-folder(unnamed) which contains just the link :
And it does not contain any of the favorites from IE.
May be I am going wrong in some of the steps.

Think could help you,
but I suggest you trying to export you're bookmarks again from IE, but check if it's possible to change the extension before you save it
