|How do I "Print Screen" in Google Chrome???||gharden||7/17/09 9:32 AM|
Frequently I need to use the "Print Screen" feature and paste the image in MS WORD then either print or save the Word Document. I've not been able to do this in Google Chrome following my normal path. Any suggestions for this? ---G

i have vista, but the PrtSc key works fine, it does copy the title and all, but you can use F11 to go fullscreen
then use PrtSc key, and Paste it into word (i know you can paste it into paintbrush, so i am sure word would manage as well)

nakro, what a good idea about the full screen print, never thought of that. I use a little program called Grabzilla, a screen capture that is quite versatile.
It solves the small print dilemma that Chrome suffers.

Webpage screenshot - https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/ckibcdccnfeookdmbahgiakhnjcddpki
By far the best way on Google Chrome. I just found it! It allows you to capture the entire webpage, not just what's visibile. Plus, no address bar, or anything. MUCH better than print screen. Here's what the extension page says...
"Fast&Simple extension to capture the whole webpage. Even long pages are saved in one image file.
This extension lets you save PNG image of any webpage.
Just one click.
Designers can choose to resize the window before capturing."

Nakro, my F11 won't work no matter what I do. You hit Fn + F11? I've tried it in Chrome (I just want to print what I see on the screen). Nothing....(?)

Feature requests (and even something as simple as a "Print Preview" feature seem to fall upon deaf ears at Google, and wasting paper is extremely annoying, but I supposed all that we can do is vote for it here:
Suggest a feature for Google Chrome(Web)
About all you can do is make a post here on the developer's forum, and let them know that you're irritated by the fact that they seem to ignore such a simple features like "Print Preview".
The developer's seem to believe that no one even uses "Print Preview" and that there is no need to change a page rotation from portrait to landscape, or even a basic "Print Preview" features to save on wasting paper.
Firefox has it, IE has it, and just about every single application has it (except for Google Chrome). You can vote for the feature on the link here:
Suggest a feature for Google Chrome (Print Preview Option) here:
Then you can ask the developers to at least add a "Print Preview" by posting on the developer's forum here:
They've known about the issue for almost 2 years now (over a year and a half) and the developers have done nothing about it, and they seem to believe that it's not a needed feature, or that no one even uses it. So please take the time to voice your concerns to the developers about wanting this "Print Preview" feature, and please take the time to ask the developers to at least quit wasting their development time on silly stupid crap, while ignoring the most basic (and widely used) functional features such as a "Print Preview", and "Page Orientation" option:
You can read more about the feature request here:

It is still IMPOSSIBLE to do a screengrab (aka screenshot or print screen) from Chrome into a Gmail message to another party. WHY?

I found the Chrome add-in called "Explain and Send Screenshots" did exactly what I needed. I highly recommend.

For me, on vista -
F11 does toggle full screen.
PrtScrn - does capture the entire desktop to clipboard - open pbrush or word Cntl-V or Edit-Paste
ALT-PrtScrn - does capture the current/active window
I Wish for a "Full Window" function - same thing only not maximized windows (clean screen, no tabs, etc)
Any ideas how to workaround getting the full screen view when not full screen ?
I desire chrome to stay as light as possible. Print-Screen ? Print Preview ? -eh the free PDF writers (like CutePDF & PrimoPDF ) are faster... just a few more keystrokes

Rather than using a "print screen" I went to the google chrome webstore and downloaded the "awesome screenshot" option and LOVE it. It will download a clickable button at the top of your screen and will allow you to capture all or a portion of the page you are viewing. Once it downloads you have the ability to save it as is (.png file) or you can add text for notes, circles, lines, draw, etc. and then save. I absolutely love it and it's super easy.
Good luck...hope this helped.
