|Play video in browser instead of download???||Batsy2||2/20/10 5:39 PM|
I want to play internet video (wmv) in Chrome, but the browser just automatically downloads the file to a folder and I have play it separately in Windows Media Player. I used to be able to just play the video inside the Chrome browser, but it stopped a couple of months ago. Is there anyway to make it play videos from inside the browser directly without having to download the actual videos and play in Windows Media Player? Here are the fixes I've tried from other posts on the forum and they HAVE NOT WORKED: firefox plugin, update flash, uninstall chrome, try the beta version. What changed, why did it change, and how do I get video back in the browser?

OK, I figured it out. For WMV I needed the windows media player firefox plug-in, but for MPEG (MPG) I needed to install quicktime. I probably had quicktime installed on this computer before my upgrade to Windows 7 and I did not put it back in after the clean install. That took me too long to figure out.....been working on it for a couple of months.

Wow - rather astonishing, but it did work. Thanks, Dwight!
