|How to view list of recently viewed web pages||nvilla||8/17/10 5:48 PM|
Please describe your question/comment in detail (for example, steps to reproduce the problem):
Google Chrome version (type about:version into the address bar):
Operating System:Error Message:Crash ID (follow the steps here: http://goo.gl/fKKK):URLs (if applicable):Extensions installed:
I'd really like to use Chrome as my default browser, but one thing it lacks that I use all the time in IE is the ability to view recently entered web addresses. In other words, at the end of the address bar in IE there is a down arrow that allows you to view web pages that you've recently typed in. As far as I can tell, you can't do this is Chrome. Please tell me if I'm missing something or if there's a plugin that I can use that will give me this feature. Thanks!

If you start typing the address of an address you've recently visited it will appear as a suggestion underneath the address bar.

Thanks Dave. But sometimes I just sit down at my computer and don't really know where I want to go on the net, so having a list to view is helpful. Just trying to find out if there's a way to see this w/o really having to take action.

Well, the tabs page gives you the 8 most popular and then in the wrench button you have your history That goes through everything you've ever visited.

Here is my feature I'm very used to in IE and don't seem to have it in chrome.
in IE, next to the Next/Previous buttons there is a small down arrow that allows you to list the recent pages, it actually allows you to select how many steps you want to go back, so if for example you are looking at a list of -lets say- open tickets, then you make a change to a ticket when you are done with the chage you want to go back to the list of tickets. in chrome this could only be achieved by pressing the back button 3 times (going back to the selected ticket; going back to the selected ticket prior to the update you just made; then going back to your list). In IE you can press the drop-down and select the page that has the list.
now if you ask me why is this so important? what the big deal of pressing the back button 3 times vs pressing the drop-down and selecting the page that has your listing?
the answer is that it makes a significance difference on your work experience, because when you deal with form submission pages and you press the back button, there will be a warning that asked you if you want to resubmit that page, now if you press YES you are doubling your submission, if you press NO then you can't get back. THIS IS WHY THE DROP DOWN is so important.

after reading around I got it!
right click the rever button and you see a list pf pages.
you know what? if there would be a drop down, I wouldn't have to play around until I found the feature.....
