|How do I COMPLETELY DISABLE ALL address bar drop-down suggestions?||estevangz||2/7/10 6:34 PM|
Please describe your question/comment in detail (for example, steps to reproduce the problem):
I'm getting really annoyed by this. I really, really WANT to switch to Google Chrome because I like how everything works, but I really, really hate address bar drop-down suggestions. I had them easily disabled in Firefox, why can't I do it here!?
I've searched and searched and tried all the "solutions" I could find, everywhere on the web, and none of them work.
If I could find a solution I'd be happy as a clam.
I even tried the omnibox-popup-count=0 thing, and it crashes the browser.
For others to best assist you in troubleshooting scenarios, please also provide the following:
Google Chrome version (type in about:version into the address bar):
Operating System: WinXP SP2
URLs (if applicable): 18.104.22.168

This probably isn't the answer you're looking for... but, the answer is simply: you can't - at least, not until this bug is fixed.
It also looks like this issue has been filed in Chrome's bug database as well (very recently; a week ago), but it hasn't been addressed by the developers yet:
I would suggest going to that bug report and clicking the Star at the top-left, as so that it can get more notice from the developers, and hopefully will be fixed sometime soon.
